At 40 I purchased my first gun. Partly due to our culture not wanting me to have one, and the other part due to a psycho I dated. A Stevens (savage) 320. Bad picture, but I took that right when I got it, and the other is my target after the first time I ever shot a gun. Currently in the process of trying to get my pistol permit. Lots of red tape in New York.

Do you have to get a license to pray? How about permission to peaceably assemble? Need to request not to be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment? Does NY allow you to be held as a slave?

Does all of that sound like ridiculous violations of Constitutionally protected God-given rights?

You don’t even need a license to drill a hole into a 9 month old fetus’ head and use public tax money to do the deed.

Imagine that.

NY is awful. You should see the process Im going through to *try* and get a pistol permit. Even then, it could take 18 months. I had a dui back in 2004, and some stupid minor stuff I did back in 1996 when I was 19 years old. Had to get dispositions from all the courts. References have to be checked and a sheriff has to tour my home.

Im 41 years old now, havent had a single drink in 3 years, own my second home, always paid my taxes and have full custoday of my children. That minor stuff may very well have me denied.

If it wasnt due to having a great job and custody of my kids, Id be out.

The 2nd Ammendment says that your right shall not be infringed. It sounds to me like there is a lot of infringement going on.

Every time I read something like this I have mixed emotions. I'm not sure if I should laugh at the ridiculousness, or be angry.

It actually laughable since .22lr, 38, 357 and 45 LC are also quite common in lever action long guns, and 410 for pistols (judge).

I tried for 2 years to obtain a pistol permit during my short time living in NY and was unsuccessful, and I'm prior military with a totally clean record

LOL, I won an AR in a Boys/Girls Club raffle Super Bowl Sunday. First time I've ever really won anything. All wood laser engraved furniture, custom build lower with "Braves 18" as the serial number, and 223 Wylde barrel. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

I can say now there’s 2 AR’s I’ve seen that I wouldn’t mind having. The wood really complements the weapon.

Pick your poison.

I have 2 acquaintances that have landed 3.4 mile long range shots. One guy is Jeff Brozovich and the other is Paul Phillips. Paul was using a McMillan rifle and Kelly McMillan came out to the shoot to witness the event. I haven't talked to Derek, but he landed a shot too.

Paul posted a video 2 days ago, of him landing hits. Enjoy.

I got my Wiley Clapp back from the gunsmith. I had the grip safety shimmed so it didn’t sound like a bag of tin cans, had the thumb safety dehorned and extractor issues corrected. It’s lying on top of a 1935 dollar bill I found in my wallet yesterday that I think I got at a fast food restaurant sometime last week.

I thought they looked good together.
