I would still have to say that probably the most riciest game of them all had the best engine and exhaust sounds of all time. NFS 2 Underground. Bash all you want but it is true, the car's sounded pretty damn close to how they sound in real life.

Same here, I have more fun playing one of the Burnout games. Don't get me wrong - I get excited about nice simulations, but I always end up playing crazy, blow shit up, smash everything type games more.
I really prefer the NFS games.
Meh, its kinda hard to be accurate with modified car sounds since there are so many parts you can mix and match. But at least when they're stock they sound like their real-life counterparts.
How are any of the GT games simulations? You can slam into a wall at 200 mph and drive away like it's nothing.
in all fairness you can do the same in forza...
The idea is to race not smash walls. How fun would be when you're trying to learn how to play the game and you can't finish a single race because you hit the wall to much? Sure damage is a cool feature but my goal when playing these games is to race, and not smash into everything.
It's a simulator because the driving physics and details are about as close as you can get when transferring from real life to computer.
That is also one of the reasons GT is delayed. They decided to hold it back and add damage.

look at those donuts and powerslides in that mustang, so realistic.
hardly. if you want to play a REAL SIM then your only options are on computer(live for speed, rFactor, etc.). both the GT and FM series are FAR from arcade, but they are far more forgiving than a real sim, such as the aformentioned, also. GT5(p) is DEFINATLY not "as close as you can get".

that trailer is from the rewind gallery mode, where you make cars do all kinds of crazy stunts and record them...its NOT a race pal, as much as you want to believe it so you can seperate them in your mind, forza is a DIRECT competitor to the GT series
100 tracks, adaptive computer AI(not bumper cars like GT5), sim or arcade mode. the computer actually adjust to your driving style and skill as YOU progress to keep the game challeging..damage-full rollovers this time, modeled to scale.. GT5 may have some bumper damage, dents etc.

Its not an arcade style game. Why dont ya try watching the in-game replays instead of the trailer then, or the press conference gameplays; then come say its an arcade game.
I cannot wait for this to come out, although i was not super amazing at forza 2. I still played the shit out of it and will be wasting away on 360 it looks like come holidays for a LONG time lol.. between this and modernwarfare2 i will have no life lol.

didnt watch the whole video, but i came back to it when it loaded all the way and watched the end part. and he is plain wrong on the dualshock controller being the same as driving with DFP wheel. DFP wheel you have more control especially with throttle response.

Sorry for a wiki link but its the only thing I could find that I view at work.
That wheel will still work, but the fanatec has a true 900 degree wheel motion compared to I think 300 for the ms wheel. Plus you can get a gated 6 speed shifter with clutch pedal. Finally you will be able to dump the clutch. I will be selling my MS wheel for the fanatec as soon as I can.
