just did my first oil change and i used approximately 8 quartz of mobil one with a motorcraft oil filter i checked the dipstick and shows to be fine ..........is this an issue since they recommend it for 6-7?

I do 6.5 every spring.. :beer:
i use 7qrts,,,thet say dip stick is off,,suggested fix was make new full mark with 6qrts/6.5 qrts
so now what? dip stick shows the level to be fine.....should i leave it alone?

nothing aftermarket car is going into 18k miles....i just bought it a month ago my dads a mechanic he checked it for me he said it was fine and ive been changing oil...it looks ok....?:shrug:

If your oil pan is stock, forget what the dipstick says...I put 7qts and actually went back and drained 1/2 qt after doing some more reading. I would stick to 6.5 and if you want to go to the higher level...7. 8 qts is too much oil. Could cause valve float

I used to run 7qts. of Royal Purple 5w30 and it put me right at the full line :beer:
i have a pneumativac fluid extractor......im just going to take one quart out, i drove it about 4 4.5 miles back to the house from our shop, shouldnt be a problem?

No you will be fine. I put 7qts and I had a bit of oil coming out of the dipstick tube from too much pressure...at least that's what I think. Took it down to 6.5 and no problems.
Either way, your car will be fine at 6.5-7qts.

6.5 qts. in both of my Cobra's with a stock pan....
Get under there and take picture of the oil pan.
Then post it in this thread.
Mechanic friend of Dad may not know what to look for.... we do.
