My cousin had a 12 platinum ecoboost and now a 15 platinum ecoboost. I have driven them both many, many times and am familiar with the power delivery of the ecoboost. It is very smooth and quick to spool up, but very boring. They sound like shit and hence why the new raptor sounds like shit. I would gladly trade that extra trq for a V8. I like the new raptor I just dont want that ecoboost. I'm holding off, praying Ford gets their shit together and does a V8 for this thing.

Drove a 17 Ecoboost with the 10speed transmission....it's worth it.

Negative. Feels like you're in constant powerband. It's phenomenal.

Huge difference. It would make me forego a 2016 and get a 2017.

Interesting. With all the hate around some of dodges 8 speeds, I thought this would be worse.

That transmission has been a long time coming. It's probably decently ironed out.

Also designed in partnership with GM, and GM has made some pretty decent transmissions. Although I believe the tuning is done completely independently. So that may have nothing to do with it.

How do you guys feel about the start/stop engine??
I'm kinda of getting over the fact that it's a V6 engine, which has good power and great torque. But, that start/stop engine, I don't think I would like that.
A guy I work with has a '15 Ecboost that does that and he doesn't like it.
Is there a way to temporarily or permanently disable that?

only the 2.7 has that feature, not sure if the 17's adopted it

Yes, it is on the 2nd generation Raptor.
I didn't notice until last night on Ford's site while doing a mock build.
Does anyone know if there is a way to disable it, either permanently or temporarily?
