My folks have done this in the last two houses they have re done. But just polished concrete, with a seal on top. Works perfect with radiant heat, and is as indestructible as well, concrete.

Most of the cost would be polishing the floor, if its new and machine trowled not a big deal, an old stained rough floor could take a lot of work, or a lot of $$ depending on who does the work.

Good luck getting it to bond. You need a special product like tuff link or bond coat. Also, you would need to deal with baseboards and cabinets height.I was thinking of doing a skim coat of new concrete.
