You can't deny that performance like this is intriguing.

As a road racer, I've always said that if you can give me something that weighs what a miata weighs, but punches like a mustang punches I'd be inclined. That being said, as was mentioned, sound is just such an important part of the experience ... that and 3 pedals.

Honestly, the 1st gen is a great platform to build an electric street rod.

Lightweight, plenty of parts available, so many made that you don't feel obligated to keep it stock.....

I’m going to make my ‘03 Cobra a hybrid. I’m converting the blower to electric drive. That’s a whole lot easier than converting the whole car.

I'm expecting photos of a leaf blower attached to someone's intake now.

From a technical standpoint its very cool. But keep classic cars burning gas, the way God intended.

Dude, I work on xray machines. I'm talking a 11KW electric motor driving the Eaton, with a speed control and a set of batteries in the trunk. Batteries drive the blower, alternator recharges the batteries in normal driving. It's a win/win, because you offload the demand for driving the blower from the engine, thus putting that power to the wheels. The other idea is to get a centrifugal blower, like a Paxton, set up the same way. Now, with electric drive decoupled from the engine, you can have instant boost off the line and centrifugal blower efficiency.
