Still all rumors....I was hoping that Ford would have announced it last week but unfortunately it was just the Shelby GTH model.

let's hope for an Ecoboost 5.0, twin turbo, direct injection. Mid 700 hp easy with two tires tied behind it's back.

I'm going to keep saying it (because I think I'm right, and I'm hoping I'm right)

5.0TT 725hp with optional 10-speed automatic.

If an auto makes it on the options list, I would expect the new 10-speed GM/Ford auto to make it over any others ... same trans going into the 2017 Raptor

Ditto.

They did the screamer NA GT350, so what I want out of the GT500 is probably blasphemous around here...but what they did before...the FGT engine.

Turbo is the only logical way to go right now imo. They have exhausted superchargers to the point where everyone followed suit, and now that they cant necessarily drop a significant amount of weight yet, making the engine more efficient with more power is the way to go. They have also secured good transmission, suspension, and wheel/tire tech to harness it all in a sturdy platform.

I hope it is over 700 HP, drops some weight & can finally really turn & they put beefy tires on for a change to it can put the power down

Couldn't be more wrong. There's no way ford puts a 5.0 in a GT500. No replacement for displacement. Especially in their flagship performer.

Why did they put a 4.6 in the SVT Cobra, when they had a 5.4 in the lightning?

Btw, theres already Cobras with 5 liter Motors.

Lol whatever you say buddy.

Ford hasn't used anything bigger than a 5.8 for performance cars for the last 30+ years. I mean, those engines were no joke but in muscle car standards they aren't that big, especially when their competition has been using 5.7L engines as their base performance powertrains. There's no replacement for highly engineered, technological advancement in powertrain development. Everyone has got their corner of the market and I would say Ford is sitting as one in a great position to outclass their competition.
