SVTP Cruise @ MW2k13 :: Well That Escalated Quicklyhttp://www.svtperformance.com/forum...tperformance-cruise-mustang-week-70-pics.htmlhttp://www.svtperformance.com/forum...tperformance-cruise-mustang-week-70-pics.htmlhttp://www.svtperformance.com/forum...tperformance-cruise-mustang-week-70-pics.html
Our first official SVTP Cruise was a bit larger than we anticipated, nothing some improvisation won't fix.

Astonished, that’s the word that first comes to mind when I think of our first SVTPerformance Cruise at Mustang Week. I say that because I was expecting maybe 15 cars to show up. We had done very little to promote the cruise and my expectations were pretty low. When I drove into the lot at the designated meeting area and saw over 90 cars waiting to cruise to Mellow Mushroom I knew we were really on to something. With a little shuffling of our schedule and massaging of our plans we managed to get things rearranged and were soon ready to roll.
I realized we had too many cars to cruise our current route without a police escort; so we decided to take a more direct route to our final destination, Mellow Mushroom. I had previously placed an order for 6 pizzas and 80 wings for our group, by the end of the evening that order had expanded to 16 pizzas and 160 wings. The crew at Mellow Mushroom did a great job of accommodating over four times the number of people we had planned for. The management may have been a little worried at first, but once everyone hit their rhythm things ran smoothly. Mellow’s manager told us that we were the single largest party they have ever had. An impressive feat considering they are next door to a baseball stadium.
I really appreciate all the SVTP Members who came out to make our first official cruise such a resounding success. I’m not sure how we’ll handle the SVTP Cruise next year, we are already planning for it, but at least we know that SVTP can generate a huge number of cars for a cruise with very short notice. Again, thanks for everyone who participated in the SVTPerformance Cruise at Mustang Week 2013. Check out some pics:
