Check this big Generator out

Found out this big generator was coming though so I thought I would take some pics. Trucks, trailers, and the generator weight 1.5 million pounds. Its going 300 miles and can only go 5 mph



Had to lift the power lines and red lights so it could fit under them

So i'm wondering how a bridge would hold up to that if it had to cross it?

I'm wondering why they didn't send it by rail? Presumably more efficient, you can have all the diesel locomotive you want and less disruption to traffic patterns. Perhaps it wouldn't fit through a tunnel somewhere though.

Yikes, talk about a wide load taking over a road! 1.9 million lbs. 576+- wheels.

I agree about the bridge question. That's 950 short tons! :eek:
