Build date for 14's that might have 15 engine parts?

I bought what I think is a late production 14 GT and just read some of them have 15 internals/heads. Maybe that's bogus, thought I would ask just so I know. Thanks!
Do we even have a clue what/when the build dates might for some lucky 14 owners? Deysha? Very interesting. Mine was build late Aug 13 and pretty sure I'm out. LOL
These are 2 different vehicles, guys. That info is incorrect. Great theories though. :rolling:

You can tell on the intake ports the extra material. This is why most(if not all) the 11-14 PD blowers won't bolt on, that extra material needs to be cut/ground away.


Another thing we noticed is 15 cars have a three bolt water pump pulley, where most all other(what i'm told) 11-14 5.0's are 4 bolt.

You can see here my 14 motor is a three bolt:

Now I dont have pictures, but the engine builder said the pistons/rods were slightly different vs the other coyote motors he built. So I can only assume they are 15 rods/pistons.

My 2014 has a 3 bolt water pump as well but that's the extent of it. It also needs the new style converter as well.

I know sometimes the car doesn't always have what it's supposed to per year. My 2012 GT somehow had a leftover 5.8 Windsor in it.

Can't wait for someone to post a pic of a torque converter for a 15, I'd be willing to bet it'll be the same as the late 14's. All of the stupid comments about having a GT500 engine are going to ruin a simple thread of curiosity....

Strange things do happen, but within reasonable limits. For example my 2013 5.0 did not have piston cooling jets, even though by VIN parts record it supposedly left the factory with them.

Agree. A different water pump is nothing but FATHERFORD reporting 2015 heads on his 2014...that's very interesting. I'm very curious to pull my intake and look at mine for myself.

All 14s have the 3 bolt water pump pulley. I believe they made this change late 13. My 14 was bought 11/2013.

if it had better heads wouldnt we see better numbers from 14s than 13s? i mean from what i see 11-14 pretty produce mostly the same in a standard range.

Possibly, yes--but how many late late model 2014s have posted up?

Intakes are different, computer tune is different, etc. They might be using the hard parts, but we are only talking "15hp" difference.
