Where do you guys get all this money for this stuff? I just looked at the prices and almost fell over. I feel like I'm the only regular Joe Schmo who owns a Shelby that cant afford to upgrade it lol.

Just consider yourself smart enough to know your financial capabilities. Many buy but cannot "afford".

I'd like to get that Escort package with the laser shifters, but the problem is they're illegal in Texas and having those laser heads sticking out of a grille is a dead giveaway.

Maybe one day they'll make them so you can't see them :)

I'll probably be dead by then though.

You might want to double check that....Last time I looked into it, the FCC managed the regulations with radar jamming and it is illegal everywhere. However, laser (being light) is not regulated by the FCC, and it is perfectly legal to run a laser jammer in all 50 states. Virginia is also the only state in the Union where radar detectors are illegal.

Unless something has changed very recently, I think you are okay to run some "shifters" on the front of your car. They work like a champ!

Shouldn't a member of the law obey all traffic laws being they give out tickets to others for doing things such as speeding, not using a traffic signal, etc? Sounds hypocritical if you ask me. :rollseyes

I think the same thing. Exactly why I stated I don't write for speed or tint unless the person I stop is being a jerk. I give plenty of breaks. Good thing my agency doesn't have a "quota" otherwise I'd be screwed. I also have a friend that said the same thing to me. He also called me when he got stopped for cutting a guy off and wanted me to get him out of it. Yeah, that didn't happen... :dw:

Want the best laser/radar detector? Don't speed.

Texas Code 547.611, bans the purchase, sale, offer for sale, or use of a radar interference device. A radar interference device is defined as "a device, a mechanism, an instrument, or equipment that is designed, manufactured, used, or intended to be used to interfere with, scramble, disrupt, or otherwise cause to malfunction a radar or laser device used to measure the speed of a motor vehicle by a law enforcement agency of this state or a political subdivision of this state, including a 'radar jamming device,' 'jammer,' 'scrambler,' or 'diffuser.'"

Violation of the statute constitutes a Class C misdemeanor.

Interesting. Thanks for clarifying.

What do you bet they just recently added the words "or laser" in there. Because at the beginning of the statute it just stipulates "radar interference device", and laser jamming has nothing to do with the interference of a radar device.

Eventually, they allllllways catch on! :nonono:

I know mine too :(

I wish they would come up with a more stealth laser jammer so that you couldn't see it from the outside of the car.

But until then I'll just have to keep it at the speed limit hehe.

Yeah totally I'm sure they added that once they realized that it didn't include laser.
