How was the wiring? Was it difficult to wire? I know most get wired into the powered rear view mirror, but where did you wire the radar detector to in the boss?

Into the dome light. It was an easy install and took about 20 minutes start to finish.

I like my 9500ix. It learns and tunes out false signals. Once your normal route is learned you know it's real if it goes off. Nice not to hear all the false signals over and over.

I ran my hardwire to fuse box. And used the mirror mount.

I'll have to check that out. I'd like to do the same in my Boss, but was skeptical about not having the powered mirror. Did you use the wiring from blendmount?

Any of you guys run laser / lidar jammers? They are legal here, some say they work but first hand experience I have none.

I would recommend the 9500IX. It has saved me countless times. I didnt want the V1 because it would get annoying constantly going off. The 9500 already has a really good range.

I run the 9500ci in all my cars with the Escort Live app running on my smart phone to give me access to reports from other drivers 'in the cloud'.

That's some excellent 'situational awareness' right there! :rolling:

The lidar shifting does work really well for every situation I have encountered. I know there are more powerful systems out there but this does its job and is integrated.

Tx, buddy has one in a pick up says its saved him a few times, from a co called laser interceptor. Might have to goggle the topic I am sure there is lots of dialog on jammers on the net. Only tickets I ever get are in my car, never the family wagon, lol.

You really need to have laser protection nowadays.

9500ci- fully built in.

+1

I am an Escort dealer and the 9500Ci is, hands down, the best set-up going.....but it's also $1,600 + about a $300-400 installation, depending on your vehicle.

For windshield or rear-view mirror mounting (RogueMount) the 9500xi is best in town and has the most sophisticated filtering. Out on the highway the Redline is the clear winner, and the detector that I personally use. That said, I do most of my high-speed driving from Phoenix to Vegas or Phoenix to So Cal where it is open desert area and the Redline's range can shine. (It uses the same radar detection "head" as the more expensive 9500Ci integrated detector does at $1,600). But, in town the Redline will pick up far more false alarms than the 9500 series does.

Prior to having the Escort I ran a V1. While I agree that they have good highway range, it still doesn't compare to the Redline, and they false so much in town that you are hitting your brakes every two minutes with false alarms- totally not worth it when you are trying to drive with confidence.

If anyone on SVT is interested in anything Escort makes send me a PM. I'm happy to answer any of your questions and also offer a small price break for SVT members. I currently have both the Redline and the 9500ix in stock, but can special order anything if you want a different model.

I called today and ordered the 9500xi..seemed like the best bet out there for me to switch from car to car to truck, so I should get it this week. Ordered directly from Escort along with the Escort live add on....looking forward to getting to use this thing...
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

Beltronics magnum would have been a better choice for a windshield mounted detector.

Its just a tool, you still have to use it correctly.

I picked Escort 9500IX because I hate not trusting a detector due to false alarms. I will say in two weeks of owning it on my routine driving routes it has already blocked out several areas where false alarms would go off. I love it. Saved me on one road trip but I feel like it's range was a little short there. I really didnt have time to mess around hitting brakes. Kinda close in my books lol. Red light camera feature is nice to have.

The best weapon against tickets have been my badge lol, I thought the op was a trooper with his name but maybe not if he's looking for radar. Actually I haven't been pulled over in years, guess I've been lucky.

BINGO!!!! Same here. I usually get stopped for window tint but I haven't been stopped in awhile myself. I also don't write for window tint or speeding... (for those who want to ask... lol) (edit: unless the person I stop is being a...)

Where do you guys get all this money for this stuff? I just looked at the prices and almost fell over. I feel like I'm the only regular Joe Schmo who owns a Shelby that cant afford to upgrade it lol.

Shouldn't a member of the law obey all traffic laws being they give out tickets to others for doing things such as speeding, not using a traffic signal, etc? Sounds hypocritical if you ask me. :rollseyes

I'd like to get that Escort package with the laser shifters, but the problem is they're illegal in Texas and having those laser heads sticking out of a grille is a dead giveaway.

Maybe one day they'll make them so you can't see them :)

I'll probably be dead by then though.
