Lots of good options out there outlined in this post. For me, it's the Diamondback DB9. Best advice I would give is get something bigger than .380! I've seen the results of people shot with 380's and they have way too high of a survival rate for my tastes. If you need to really shoot someone, you want to stop them dead. 9mm is totally worth the added bulk (minimal imho) over a 380. Some of the ballistics experts here could probably give more accurate figures, but I think a 9mm is something like 30-40% more power than a 380.
