Anyone thinking about trading their 11-14 in on a 15?

no, but it does look sick!

Don't mind this thread lol. Some of the stuff said in here is pretty stupid

I personally cannot wait to see what Ford has to give us tomorrow!

With the weight advantage and live axle (along with the Coyote engine), I think the 11-14 will be desirable for years to come. Especially for drag racers.

Probably, but the aftermarket is gonna catch up real quick to make it a sturdy drag car as well.

Not too keen on the looks of the 2015 at all. I think Ford missed the mark on looks, weight, handling and performance ...

Have you seen one in person yet? I thought the same thing as you until I looked at one at the dealer, it actually look's pretty good.

im resisting ordering a OW 300a TP on a daily basis. at the very least I'm waiting for some rebates to hit. I'm trying to be smart, but its not working.

HaHa! Like seeing the woman of your dreams, all common sense goes out the window. :)

All you 11-14 owners should not trade. Saw my first '15 2 door Fusion oops I mean mustang this morning and am not impressed

If there were rebates (like the 3k I got on my 13 GT) I'm pretty sure I would've walked out with the Black/Black I sat in. Yup ...

I think it's funny people jumping on the bandwagon early when Monday Ford will release the GT350. Let's see what they have to offer before making a quick impulse buy.

Are people that are buying GT's really in the same market as those who get GT350's?

Definitely not "girly", but more European for sure. Oh well, it's a world car now ... and that certainly can't hurt the brand in the long run. Right?

I thought about it, but money wise the dealer was saying they'd give me 23-25k for my trade in. No way am I gonna lose money on a perfectly fine 13 gt/CS to only get maybe a moderately better in certain areas upgrade.

And then you hear stock for stock the 11-14s are faster. IRS , big fusion catfish look to the front. I'm willing to wait to the next redesign instead of losing money on a decent ride now.

Although I love my current car, I can't help but be tempted to trade. I refuse to go test drive a '15 becuase i'm scared I'll but one!

A few things are keeping me from trading.

1. Gonna wait until Ford does two things...works out the kinks of a first model year run, and thet start offering some rebates

2. Gonna wait to see what the GT350 is all about

3. Man, I really don't want to have a bigger car payment! Plus, I really love my car, still.

My 2011 is a few months shy of being payed off so the mental debate happened. The 2015 front end is such a deal breaker. Ole girl has a messed up face but a nice booty. I want my 2011 front end mixed with the 2015 rear please. Also why are the stock E.T.'s the same as 2011? Maybe I was looking in the wrong spot.

It's no faster because of the extra weight. And I'm not buying into the fact that ford is saying that it is only 86 pounds heavier than the 11-14 GT.
Here is a quote from Motor Trend: "So why isn't the new ponycar faster than the old one, or handle as well given its horsepower and torque bump and new suspension? One word: weight. The new Mustang GT weighs in at 3814 pounds, a 196-pound increase over the last similarly equipped Mustang GT we tested"

check out Vorshlag site. they weighted the s550. hint its lighter than MT wants you to believe.

the reason the S550 is no quicker is because we are reaching the peak of engine tech for its class. 435hp for as low as 30k? insane. i don't see future GTs make much more HP.

Car@Driver has it weighing over 3800 pounds too. The heaviest curb weight I've seen from a magazine test for a 2011-2014 GT is 3650 pounds from Car@Driver's long term test of a 2013 model.

Back in the day, I was buying new Fox body 5.0's every time there was a significant 1/4 mile increase. For ex:

82 GT: 16.0
83 GT: 15.4
85 GT: 14.9

While the S550 is no doubt a more refined car, there's no significant improvement in that regard so I'm happy with my 13 (though the looks of the new one is really starting to grow on me!).

I'm with you on this...I love my 2014 but after driving a 2015 and seeing a few more in person, as well as the info on the GT350, it will be difficult not to consider one in the not too distant future. I am not opposed to having one of each but will probably have to wait a year or two before I can justify that. :D

Everything you said was as if you were writing down my own thoughts. :)

I looked at the 15 but bought a 14. The nose of the 15 didn't appeal to me and if it has to grow on you then probably wouldn't be the right choice for me

Did you test drive both? I definitely feel you on the looks of the 14 being a bit better....though the 15 has grown on me quite a bit. I wonder if I still would have bought a 14 if I had test driven both on the same day.

I think a different grill that eliminates the chrome pony makes a world of difference on the 15's. Ive stopped by the dealership several times to soak it in and have come to the conclusion the only scenario of buy one would be a used model that's already well modded. Not interested enough to pay a premium for "just a GT"
