Richard likes to make money. Who doesn't? Faulting a guy because of it kinda makes you the douche. I started watching, despite the fact I thought the name of the show was ridiculous, because my opinion is that 99.9% of the shit on tv is terrible. At least they put together some cool cars most of the time. If there was no drama added, there wouldn't be a show. I bet the large majority of the viewership doesn't know a damn thing about cars. Discovery cares about ratings. Dumb Americans like drama. Hell, most car guys wouldn't even watch if it was just a camera following around a couple of mechanics the whole time. You can claim you would, but you wouldn't. And you know it.
I like some of the drama, but I appreciate shows that don't script it in for the sake of it.
Bitchin' Rides is a great example. This is mine and my wife's favorite automotive show. There's no fake drama, no scripted timelines, just guys building really cool cars in a realistic manner. Unfortunately that does also mean there's lots of time between seasons since a car will be in the shop for a build sometimes well over the year and a half mark.
WRONG Rawlings is truly a no mind moron. I bet if you put a lifter and windage tray on a table and asked him what they were he'd have NO CLUE!While I don't put much stake in Richard's intelligence on matters of racing, I find it hard to believe that a guy that sponsors a Pro Stock team that races heads up wouldn't know that. My guess is that's another made for TV moment.
haha carried himself well in stone washed jeans with a bandana in the back pocket, 25 gay bracelets and white high top sneakers from the 80's? AND I don't have a problem with Chief's antics. It was agreed in the rules the car would be driven by Chief/Shawn or Aaron/Dickchard!Richard actually carried himself well, I thought. He took a pretty good verbal ass whipping from chief and kept composure. They built a bad ass car, and should be proud of what they accomplished.
Solarmovie and Project free TV have it up on their sites..It's blocked

Yea, but Bitchin' Rides seemed to have been established since the first episode. With FnL, we all got to see the growing pains of a small, no-name shop turn into something bigger. That doesn't happen without drama. Richard did what he needed to do to be where he wanted to be in life. It's not like he's done it immorally. He's a little arrogant and he's obviously proud of his success. What's that other show on Velocity where the owner is kinda a dick but they build really nice hot rods? I can't even remember the name, which kinda supports what I said earlier. They do good work, but the show itself is kinda boring. But then again, the shop was established and making good money before they had a tv show. Richard knows how to market himself and his brand damn well. I just can't fault the guy for that, as overbearing as it may be sometimes.
Nevermind I found it.If anyone gets the chance, take a listen to the podcast that Chief and Shawn did about the "Mega Race" episode from Tuesday. They really give some good description of some behind-the-scenes happenings with RR and how he treats some of the people around him. I'd recommend listening to all of the other episodes of the podcast if you're a SO's fan as well.
What episode # is the one about the Gas Monkey race?Nevermind I found it.

Finally got a chance to listen to the podcast. Interesting stuff. I like how they pretty much hold nothing back about everything. If anyone gets the chance, take a listen to the podcast that Chief and Shawn did about the "Mega Race" episode from Tuesday. I was thinking the sameI was thinking, did you see where Aaron was living? Someone's personal finances are non of my business. But, those last few episodes after he left and while he was building that BMW to race Farmtruck and Azn's car showed his house.
And I'm being objective when I say this but I would have guessed differently.
Makes me think he ain't getting any of the money Richard is getting and that's the main reason he's leaving.
