The ZL1 is a pony car, too. There are a great many of us who simply don't want a ginormous car. It's called preferences. There are still people lining up to pay MSRP+ for GT350s even though they could stroll right over to a Chevy dealership and pickup a brand new ZL1 for as much as $15K below MSRP.
true, i agree on your preferences and gt350/zl1 comments.
regarding pony/muscle cars- i still see a shit ton of people using these terms interchangeably- many call mustangs, camaros, etc. pony cars and others muscle cars...i think there are 'technical' definitions' (case in point i found this- Here is how they define Pony Car: “An American class of automobile launched and inspired by the Ford Mustang in 1964. The term describes an affordable, compact, highly styled car with a sporty or performance-oriented image.” ... A Pony Car is small, and a Muscle Car is somewhere between mid-size and full size.................................................i also found this- The Chevrolet Camaro is an American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car and some versions also as a muscle car. It went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang............................and this- Muscle car is an American term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports cars with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."
