Fantastic.

There is a WR500 I have my eye on locally... Might have to do it.

A buddy of mine gave me a stack of vintage Hot Rods to read.

Check out this ad for a '68 Suzuki X5 Invader, 23 hp, 16 second 1/4, 90mph top speed.
That must have been a hoot for a little around town buzz bomb!

Added another 2 smoker to the fleet. This makes 5. Addiction, yes. Stupid, yes.

I have $8k in receipts for a frame-off restore of this bike including discontinued NEW OEM bodywork and plastics.

--New OEM plastics
--New OEM seat
--New Ohlins front reservoir shocks ($$$)
--New ITP wheels and holeshot tires
--DG bumpers and nerf bars
--FMF pipe

The list goes on and on and on.

It is insanely clean.. As close to a showroom new 2 stroke quad you can get in 2024.

Guy thought it needed motor work because it "doesn't run right".

I spend an hour tuning it and now it will rip your arms out of their sockets.

Has a fully ported cylinder by Varner when he was at FMF. If you zoom in, you can see the "FMF" engraving on the cylinder. Such a bad ass quad.

I found a company on eBay that does damn near EXACT reproduction graphics and stickers for 80s and 90s Japanese machines.

I grabbed a set of tank shroud "Quadracer" stickers that are proper for 1989 and installed them the other day. They came out GREAT. Im so happy with the quality.

Im waiting for a few more to come in to complete the back-to-stock graphics scheme on this bike.

Need the "250" stickers for the rear fender and also the "full floater" stickers for the swing arm to replace the "suzuki" that is on the swingarm now (doesn't belong).

With today's prices, 8k imo is a damn good price. I see tons of expensive bikes on FB market place that aren't worth it for near that price.

Yeah.. the crazy thing is those $8k in receipts are from 2001 ! Bike was restored 23 years ago and literally never ridden. It just sat in a garage.

And is this going to be a garage queen? Or are you gone rip around on it?

Sheeeeeeeit! Ill be trying to break it as soon as I get some time to bring it out haha.

Tried to get out to Joshua Tree this weekend, but weather is not complying.

I'd ditch the light. Jerk off worthy otherwise.

I hear ya there. I'm stuck here in Palm springs another day because our flight was cancelled for high winds.

I remember taking my buddys Honda CR125 down the road back in 1988. That memory is still burned into my brain in disbelief on how flipping fast it was.

Nice to see they are bringing back the 2 stroke tho....

I'm always looking but never any good local riders around.
85-86 Tri-Z 250
85-86 250R
another Banshee
Anything I find is a 8-10K restoration or pristine original.

I see the better Banshee deals in Texas and sometimes MS. Where I am at, I only see clapped out banshees or stockish motor bikes for way too much.

Yep. But most still want more than I'm willing to pay for a decent rider. I guess I missed my time. Prices won't come down.
I can afford it but won't. lol

Yes... that was very common back when these bikes were new and "relevant".

Believe it or not, a clean Quadracer headlight pulls $300-400 today on eBay.

Yep. Im 45 miles West of Palm Springs... its been raining here. Whenever it rains here the deserts get crazy winds.

Safe travels!

Although im not a big Tri-z fan. I'd rather grab an ATC 250r.

You can find a nice 250r for 4-5k around here.
