ok so to build this setup if i already have a 99 cobra is a

5.4 navi block
99-01 cobra heads
aussie intake
and forged rods and pistons if i wanna run FI

thats it??:??:

You would need "the kit", not just the intake,
but basically the items you mentioned, a timing cover,
serpentine belt, and that's pretty much it.
If you want, you can PM me for more specifics.
Don't want to PO LL.

Sure, provided you have enough camshaft and compression
to take advantage of the package.
Be sure to match all that with proper gearing for its intended purpose.
LT headers would be beneficial also.
Even stock, the Aussie Boss 315 engine puts out 422 HP and 406 torque
at the flywheel with a factory, emission legal tune.
That is with 10.8:1 CR, 13mm lift camshafts, and a dual blade TB.
The earlier Boss motors has less CR, a bit milder cams,
and a 70mm single blade TB.
The "kit" arrives with a dual blade TB. (57mm),
although a single oval blade will give even more power and response.

Ones that support internal IAC,
such as an Accufab or Billetflow for a Terminator.
The upper must be set up for it from the get go.

Hey I was told the navigator heads ported to stage 3 where better then the 03-04 cobra heads ported to stage 3. If I just kept the navi heads and went with this aussie intake and just had the heads ported would that be a better choice?

If you used fgt heads for a 5.4 swap, would longtubes for a 00' Cobra R fit? I'm thinking the new wet sump alum 5.4 block from ford racing, bb sleeves for a 5.9L, ported FGT heads, sheetmetal intake, 550 whp?

Exhaust pattern for the 00 "R" is the same as a regular Cobra head.
FGT heads' exhaust bolt pattern is different.

You wouldn't really need the BB, unless you're just trying to bring the rpm down a smidge. You will need a good builder tho...

I was talking to a ford tech lastnight and he told me the pcm in all mustangs (99-04 v8s) are the same. He told me just basicly get the wireing harness from the mach 1 and it should plug right in with a 4v engine. Is that right? All I need is a wireing harness and everything else is pretty much plug and play... on the electrical part atleast.

The basic PCM is the same,
but the pin functions are different and so is the calibration.
A V6 PCM will go right in, but then what?
Use the correct harnesses and PCM.
99-2000 uses one type of fan connector, 01-04 uses another.
Match the harness to the car and the engine,
as there are many other harness differences.

Allright so since I have an 03 gt I'd need a specific pcm like from an 01 cobra or mach correct? Same gos for the wireing harness.... and does the navi engine year make a difference?

You can go several ways.
You can use your GT harness and PCM or
Use an 03 Mach 1 (auto or stick depending what you currently have)
PCM and 3 wiring harnesses. (Fuel charge, calibration and AC harness)
The year of Navi motor won't matter too much, but the newer the better.
04 is best. but after that they went 3V, so no newer than 04.
I think 99 was the first year of the 32V Navi, but not sure.

What would you go with? Will the pcm on my gt be able to handle whatever I throw at it with the Navi engine? Sorry so many questions on this subject... just don't wanna waste money on stuff I don't need or am gonna need in the future.

Cobra heads would be better IMHO.

why are the cobra heads better than the navi heads?

Im looking to put together something quick and simple for a daily driver with some decent power at a low cost. the two setups I had in mind are:

5.4 navi longblock
Mach 1 upper and lower
RR adapter plates
Shorties, CAI, tune
Catback and O/R H-pipe

5.4 navi motor w/03 cobra heads
Mach 1 upper and lower
Shorties, CAI, tune
Catback and O/R H-pipe

Which setup would make more rwhp and tq? What are some estimated rwhp and tq numbers out of these combos??
