I run it now and have run it in previous cars. It's safe. Same concept as Redline's "Water Wetter".

Nothing beats 100 % distilled water at the track but on the street I use a 80/20 mix of distilled water/coolant and a can of "40-below"...works for me.

Oh and as twhitey and 04 sleeper mentioned above...the real cooling improvements will come from things like thermostats, fan settings and what not. Don't think a can of "40 below" and or a bottle of "Water Wetter" will solve all your cooling system woes.

I have a bunch of cooling mods but the biggest improvent was achieved by cutting two holes in my hood...

Have you tried to datalog your coolant temps?

I have here year round in TX and my car runs between 178-184* with an aftermarket thermostat and my fan settings changed in my tune. This is with a Whipple @ 19 psi and 600 RWHP.

This is with plain old distilled water and Ford Gold coolant 70/30. All with the srock fan and radiator.

Save your money on the additives.

I think I read not to put a 160* thermostat in these cars. Isn't a stock one a 180*? What thermostat are you guys using? Sleeper what do you have your fans set to?

The stock thermostat is a 180*, but it does not fully open until much higher than that.

I am running the Stant 170* thermostat.

Here's how I have my fan settings:
Low Speed Fan On ECT - 184
Low Speed Fan Off ECT - 176

High Speed Fan On ECT - 190
High Speed Fan Off ECT - 188

Thanks for the link. How difficult are these to swap out?

Easy to swap...just drive it up on ramps and take apart the housing. Refilling the cooling system and burping can be the real PITA of the whole procedure. I would flush the system completely and refill with a distilled water/coolant mix...stay away from regular tap water. I personally run a 80/20 mix.

Distilled water doesn`t have all the junk tap water has in it.You could almost consider it refined.

Doing your own coolant flush can be a real P.I.T.A!!! Thats why I'm thinking about taking my Cobra to my local ford dealer who is running a special on coolant fush of $64.99 I wonder if they will install my new 170* stant also?
