How do the stock M6 LS2 stands against the 5.0 (stock vs modded)?

drivers race stock, but....

400hp 3200lb ls2 c6
412-420hp 3500lb 5.0

looks to be a 0.1-0.2 lead for the Ls2 C6

430-436hp 3200lb c6
412-420hp 3500lb 5.0

looks to be a 0.3-0.5 lead for the Ls3

i destroyed this 2012 grandsport! raced him about 10 times from 40,50,60,70rolls to 150ish,even took his pick in top of 4th gear, mods where gears ,CAI,OFF ROAD X-PIPE,TUNE ,he (grandsport)however only had a tune.

I went to the track last thursday with my 11 LS3 GS manual, bone stock. Ran 12.6@114 over and over and over on the stock tires. Heak soak or cooled off, it was the same. The car is consistant atleast. Was running 90mph stock in the 1/8th.

Buddies stock 12' LS3 GS went 11.9's-12.2's bone stock. Several 5.0's same day going best of 12.5's with tunes, cold air, x pipe. It was 94* out as well.

I would agree. Why buy a zo6 I have seen an ls3 manual go 11.96 with a bfg drag force radial at 118 but the DA was 400 my stang went 11.86 117.27. I had a FRC that ran consistent 12.80 at 114 with cai and tune. With a tire it would have went bottom 12s. Manual ls series vettes are no joke if the driver is very experienced.

I thought the base 300a like I have are about 3500-3600??

Base C6s are 3200-3300

It has been a while since I owned by 2005 C6 LS2, went from stock to vr, FAST, custom cam, full exhaust tune. My current car, a 2012 5.0 now has a cai, full exhaust and tune. I just don't have time to run my Mustang now so SOTP is my comparison. I think it's way close stock, maybe the C6 LS2 edges it out up top (the mn6 at least). Modded is anyone's game but I still think a full exhaust, tuned 5.0 is close to a tuned, cai, full exhaust C6 LS2.

Raced a stock c6 auto vs my sock auto 13 and I nosed him out to 90 before hitting the brakes for traffic.

I also raced a 2012 grand sport with exhaust and beat her by a car. Woman driver and she needed the driver mod. Not bad for a lady in her 40s.

Stock vs stock an LS2 vette will be a drivers race against a stock 5.0. An LS3 car is faster than a 5.0. I owned 2 of them. The last one I did a cam swap on and cleaned up the heads and it made just about 500rwhp. Didnt get a chance to take it to the track before I sold it though. A guy in FL has just about the same mods mine had and it goes 10.6@129 on the motor. The LS motor's with a cam swap are no joke.

They're not that much either. A premium auto hardtop GT weighs 3650, and the autos have a good 60-70 lbs over a comparable manual transmission car. So figure a base manual GT weighs in the neighborhood of 3575 or so.

My manual base was 3540 with a full tank.

1/8 tank it was under 3500.

Yes it was a manual. And I lot of guys like the GS over the Z06 here with the vette club.

But Z06'S have went 10's bone stock. I guess that why buy a Z06.
