On a roll the vette is a hair quicker cause of its weight. At the track I see more mustangs win as its easier to luanch the solid rear.

I had no problems taking out stock C5's and C6's when I had just a tune and intake at the 1/8th mile drag strip. Not sure how I would fair stock or if they even had mods. I'm sure now I wouldn't have much of an issue handling stock or lightly modded c5z or c6z's ;)

I've had a few encounters with C5's and C6's , all I can say is enable your driver mod and you should inch them out on the big end. I got ahold of a stock auto C6 from a stop light and we were fender to fender till I got into third...and then through 4th I ended putting about a car length on him...not sure what was done to the C5's I caught but the results were pretty much the same...and just to be fair about it...I got wiped off the maps by a c6 Z06..lol... he had "stuff" done do it...but holy crap that thing got down... I need a tune.......:nonono: and some turbos...lol

**edit** BTW I am completely stock (2013 GT , M6 , 3.31 gears) with the excpetion of muffler deletes and a catted X-pipe...

Intake, off road x, tune, 3.73 gears.. I have raced several times and put a car or two on my buddies c6 ls2. His mods are intake long tubes, corsa catback and tune. Now that he has done a cam and dyno tune he puts about a car on me.. he was trapping in the 117-119 range before cam and now is in the 123 range!

I have yet to actually race on but at the track they are trapping the same MPH as most coyotes. Stock vs stock its a drivers race. And it seems they are very similar mod for mod, at least with basic boltons.

All I know is the "stock" vettes I have "ran into"...in mexico of course...it was side by side till 3rd...then through 4th it was freight train time... And even bigger el oh elz...people saying its a "drivers race" with stock LS1 Camaros and T/A's...if you can find a stock one these days...I think used car lots install exhaust and a tune before they sell em... and then the LS1 guys still call it "stock"...lol

You realize C6Z's have ran 9's with just bolt ons right? They get very nasty. Specially with H/C set up. Buddies just made 590whp with his. It has went high 9's and low 10's pretty easy at a shitty track.

Yeah they are pretty sick cars......all the way around..but I really dislike the a$$ scrapping the road feeling the vette gives you... to each his own..Ill just add a couple of snails under the hood and go play nicely

What do a 5.0 with you mods trap? I think around 115 to 117 only?

I took my bone stock 06 Vette to the track once. Only made 2 passes: 12.9 @109mph(heatsoaked). And a 13.2 at 111mph(let it cool down, but I spun). With the right air temps and good track prep, I'm sure I could have gotten a 12.7-8 @112mph with some practice.

My stock (except for catback) automatic 2005 C6 Vert auto ran a 12.57@110 with a 1.9 60'
My manual 2006 C6 Coupe ran a [email protected] with a 2.0 60' (stock except for CAI and catback)

I just sold a 2011 C6 automatic that was much quicker than both of those two and my previous C6Z was in another league.

My current 2012 5.0 automatic stock does not feel as quick as my 2011 C6
I also had a 2011 5.0 automatic with CAI, axleback, and a tune that did not feel as quick as the 2011 C6.

Nice
How do the stock M6 LS2 stands against the 5.0 (stock vs modded).

My sister has a 2006 C6 manual stock. right driver I feel it would be a mid 12 second car. My car with cold air and canned tune, 3.31 gears ,ran 12.8 @ 115 mph. I haven't run her, becuase she can't drive. but I can drive her car anytime I want and I can tell you it's faster than a 5.0 mustang. Mod for mod whatever you want to compare.

How many c6 corvettes run low 12's high 11's with just tires only, compared to 5.0 mustangs with tires only? That should give you the best indication right there.

But then again, we are talking about a c6 corvette that originally retailed over 45k.

I was trapping 91-93 in the 1/8th with a CAI, upper and lower control arms, MT ET street radials and bama tune about a year ago in 1500-2000 ft DA on a soft launch (3000-3500 RPMs, 1.8 60').
