Hey guys i'm new here. Im wondering what approach I should take for 4v cams in my Cobra. I've picked up some comp beehive springs and retainers. But I dont feel like spending the 1200 for the cams, stage 2 or stage 3? Im naturally aspirated and what do you believe would be the best approach and brand to go with? This is a daily driver but not highway cruiser. I want around maybe 50rwhp dyno tune gain when done? Thanks

Sell the springs and retainer and get some Comp 106100s or 106060s. They'll add 40rwhp over the stock cams without a significant loss of tq.

Referring to cams in "stages" will get you nowhwere. "Stages" are a marketing ploy and the specs vary greatly. For example:

-Comp doesn't sell "stage" cams
-Crower stage 3s are 228/232, .484"
-Lunati stage 3s are 237/237, .550"

PSRI "Ported Short Runner Intakee". Nazman did mine originally....i'm not sure who makes it anymore.

I do.

I dont need the new springs and retainers for the cams? How much do you believe I could get for the springs and retainers after they were only idled in a car for a few mins? As well as stock 01 heads and cams. With one head needing a cam guard and no timing chain on it. Just curious. Thanks!

- Springs and retainers $300
- Heads/cams-$350

Comp Cams 106060s, 106100s, 106160s, and 106200s can use the stock springs.

When you say "cam guard" are you taliking about the cam cap?

Since this thread was brought back from the dead let me ask this... 106060 or 106100 would be best for a street driven bolt on car? I and seen so much conflict on this.

I have 106060's with intakes set to 110. Low end torque is much better than stock cams. I am very happy with them.
