so the cams degreed and ported full runner intake will only get me 20hp? the only mods on my car are longtubes, xpipe, catback, and jlt rai. my numbers are std which I really don't care about the sae/std factor. my track times matter the most, my highest trap with full weight/stock gears is a 113.21 and best et 12.92 with worn nittos555r. Ive read your post on the registry and am expecting numbers (std) right around yours.

96-98 intake cams degreed to 108/114 and a ported intake will provide a 25rwhp gain along with a huge increase in mid range power/tq.

cams with 226-230 deg duration at the same LCs will boost power by 40rwhp , have good mid range and decent tq.

Well since no one that's posted is running the 106400s do you think 4.10 will be steep enough? I'd go with 4.30s but its a daily driver.

106400s have too much duration so they can't be installed at the optimum lobe center. Less duration with optimum lobe center will make more power and have better driveability.

If you're dead set on the 106400s, get the 106200s, they will make the same power and don't require valve springs and retainers.

There are a lot of variables, but you can expect 355-360. Tuning sofware doesn't matter, it's all the same (SCT, Diablo, etc.).

hmm...i guess theres only one way to find out. lol just waiting on my intake to get done so i can schedule a day for install/tune. Ill post on the registry when i get it done next month. I have a feeling my car will put down good numbers with these mods. im expecting a solid 360-375 but like you said theres alot of variables.

Bmeagher has the same cams and made 375 std and almost nearly the same mods. Im sure i will come up pretty close to what he makes right?

375STD/365 SAE and he has a short runner that provides a 10rwhp more than a stock runner length intake.

also how short would the runners have to be if i go with the short runner?

When it comes to peak power the answer is yes. With a short runner you have to shift at 7k (or higher) to take advantage of the new found power. If you drive/shift like a girl the car will be no quicker in 1/4.

I'd like to know what it feels like for the car to not fall on its face after 6500 RPM's. Good luck man! I think I may go custom when the time comes.

we just installed some 106400's in my buddys Mach he had JBA mids, X pipe, SLP catback, K&N CAI, and UDP. we didnt degree them just slapped them in with the right valve springs and he just got it tuned Yesterrday made 371rwhp STD on a dyno dynamics dyno in 104* heat. id say that it a happy dyno but ive seen alot of cars dyno on it and the numbers are not at all high.
