Ford stainless catback system removed from a 97 Cobra by the car's second owner in 1999. I purchased it in 2012 in case I wanted to return my Cobra to stock but realize now that day will never come. Time to get this in the hands of someone with a restoration project.
Tailpipes were cutoff...
I have a complete exhaust system from a 96 or 97. It is heavy and shipping from Kansas City will not be inexpensive. PM me if you are still in the market. It is at the bottom of my spare Cobra parts pile.
Looking at your sig .... I have a spare Teksid long block too. ;)
WOW! OEM quality TTY bolts have been hard to find and ridiculously expensive when I do. Ordered a set of ARP main cap and side bolts for about 50% more than TTY. Parts for these cars are getting harder to source every year.
Where do you guys source main cap bolts from? This build does not require ARP fasteners, so sticking with standard TTY replacements. MMR has main cap bolts available. I've not been able to find a Ford part number to check dealer availability.
Looking for a new set of main cap bolts for a 96 Teksid with stock windage tray. Thought I would ping forum members before ordering a set online. PM to let me know what you have available along with cost including shipping to 66085.
It seems that most of the folks that have installed subframes are glad that they did. Like everything else, results are dependent on the quality of work done. I'd love to see some data on what the bracing actually does, though. Seat of the pants feel will improve for sure with subframes...
Stock Cobra Vert has a front cross brace bolted in place. My 96 suffered from the same suspension noise until I replaced the front bushings with Moog parts and the rear control arm with a NOS factory replacements. There is no suspension noise now. Since this car is a weekend cruiser that sees...
Yup. I bought a kit from two men 1 garage that was fairly simple to install. There are a few minor modifications required, but instructions are provided and easy to follow. It worked so well that I got a second kit to add a power passenger seat too. http://www.2men1garage.net/

Best of luck. These kinds of issues can be a real pain to pin down, but perseverance usually wins out. Kudos for making the effort to bring a Cobra back to life.
1800 RPM is where mine goes on a cold start. Have you checked both temps sensors in the crossover pipe? One runs the dash gauge and the other is an input to the CPU.
Do you still have IMRCs installed? One of the most common vacuum leak points on these cars is o-rings on each end of the...
EXACTLY! What you should do depends on YOUR expectations for the car.
Get a different buddy. This is complete nonsense. Yes -your car is 20ish years old and will take some effort to maintain. Does that really matter when you are driving down the road with a smile on your face? Any fool...
Decking the heads will change the timing chain geometry slightly. Replace the timing chains (Ford racing makes a nice set M-6004-A464), replace oil pump and degree the cams. Send the injectors out for ultrasonic cleaning.
Disassemble both IMRC's while they are out. Clean all the parts and...
You might be surprised at how well the cleaning kits work. I had great luck using a cleaning a kit on a set of headlights that were pretty sad looking.
If you are happy with the price paid, then all is good. Be aware that the head gasket leak will slowly grow until the the engine cannot burn the liquid off. As liquid accumulates, the rod will start bending from the hydraulic pressure and the piston skirt will get ever closer to the crank.
