Hopefully it can be saved. Losing a front leg is a lot harder to navigate than losing a rear leg for a dog.

That's what I was thinking too. I know they adapt well but the front leg can't be easy.

sounds like great news overall, hope it heals quickly!

Thanks, I really hope so too. He deserves a long and healthy life considering he's already been rescued once. He's only 4 now too so he's got some time ahead of him still.

Little girl has a new toy, as of last night. I spoke with a family friend and his dog’s favorite toy to play with was a knotted rope. So, I got her one and as you can see she’s quite taken with it. We fought over it for a while last night. When she gets a little more confident with the toy then we can really start playing tug of war. It will be a noice change from fighting over the tennis ball; that’s been her usual form of entertainment.
She had her stitches removed and the vet said everything looked good. Probably at the end of the year she’ll go back for a check up on the other spots on her body. They said they aren’t of any worry like the one that was removed. But we want to stay on top of the remaining ones in the event they grow larger.

So I'm walking my dogs last night and my oldest, 14, who I've recently posted about her intestinal ailment, suddenly collapsed and was lifeless, although still breathing, for about 2 minutes. I picked her up and as I was carrying her, for a lack of a better term she came back to life so I put her down and she was fine and acted as if nothing happened. Scared the shit out of me.
Has anyone ever experienced this or have any idea what may have caused it? Yes, I'm going to make a vet appointment.

Maybe a seizure.

We had something that sounds pretty similar. I watched as our old girl slowly went stiff legged and keeled over sideways.

No twitching, convulsing, nothing. I figured she was gone. Couldn't see breathing/chest movement and her pulse was weak but detectable.

She came out of it and looked at us like, "What's all the fuss?". She went another couple of years before old age took her down.

Vet said likely causes, even if provable, would likely be untreatable.

Mentioned epilepsy, stroke, neurological and heart issues.

Hope yours hangs in there!

Thanks for the insight. Did she just have the one episode? My girl has done it 2 more times today. once as I was leaving the Vet. Took her back in and they said said her heart was more irregular than before her episode so it might be heart related. Like you said though, not much can be done.

Took Colt out for a long walk last night. He is much better than Bella on the leash. This is the guy I found abandoned behind my neighborhood. Neighbor saw a city of Houston worker dump him out a city truck last year. I went and found him as soon as I heard.View attachment 1834487View attachment 1834488View attachment 1834489View attachment 1834490

Really like that color of his coat. It's probably common but for some reason it doesn't seem common, like it's lighter or blonde.

Twice she got back up, the 3rd time no. They speculated congestive heart failure most of all.

Again, best wishes .

Thanks again. I feel like I can't let her out of my sight anymore. If this is going to be a daily event I can't let her live like this. I'm just going to see what happens the next few days.

My baby passed away tonight. Got progressively worse all day and was at the point where every time she tried to stand up it was like she was having a stroke and after a few minutes, she would come out of it and the last one she had she didn’t come out of it, and passed. She was the sweetest dog I ever had I am going to miss her so much. I am so sad tonight.
