Maybe darker colors (I love the Isle of Mann Green) help hide the enlarged front grills. White, for example, would enhance the largeness. So I actually like the front end on this one. If you do buy it, be sure to post up your driving impressions.

Still dickering.

I've been looking at these as well. They look so much better in person than in pics.

Interesting purchase experience. Negotiated the deal over the phone. The car is in transit. They wanted to do paperwork over zoom. I declined and said we could do paperwork after I inspect the car. Nothing worse than trying to unwind completed paperwork. Based on their reaction, not sure I really have the car sold to me. We'll see what happens.

How much below MSRP could you get them to go?

Only $750, just no inventory to give any leverage. Order time was 10 months, if they had an allocation, which they didn't. Only 1 other in a color I don't like within 200 miles. There was a blue one 400 miles away.

Thanks for the feedback. What color are you wanting?

That's awesome. So you said the car is in transit, which is good news. Is it coming from the factory, or from another dealership?

Did you give the dealership a deposit to hold it for you? If not, isn't that risky that it could be sold to the first person showing cash/signing contract? It sounds like your salesperson is letting you inspect it upon arrival and then proceed with a sales contract, BUT if John Jones talks to another salesperson and says he will do a sales contract immediately, or puts down a deposit, you'd lose the car. Am I missing something here?

For those who missed reading page 1 of this thread, here's the car in question. A beauty IMO.

It's coming from the factory, supposed to have hit the port.

Earnest money means nothing in MN. Dealer must refund, if asked. They could indeed sell it out from underneath me. Then you know what kind of dealer you are working with. They have a complete credit app and driver license copy, so they know I can purchase car. We'll see what happens, I am not a long-time customer, so could very well get pinched if one comes in and wants it.

I bought the color in post #14.
  • EXTERIOR:
    Isle of Man Green metallic
  • INTERIOR:
    Silverstone/Black Extended Merino Leather
A guy at work whose parking space is next to mine has an “Isle of Green” X6. It shines like no other. He bought his wife a new M4 XDrive convertible As well.

Drove down to the dealership and spoke with the GM and Finance Manager. Everything squared away. Due to their sales volume and the way BMW pushes inventory to them, they have a different sales process compared to what I was used to.

Wow, very nice @Weather Man
Bad ass car for sure. Love the looks of them and the previous generation. I actually think that BMW makes some of the hottest looking suvs out there as well. I see A TON in the town that I live in. Gorgeous.

If I had to replace my current Mustang with a brand new car, this would probably be it.
There are no more Hellcats or Camaros, unless you can score one that you like for a good price in brand new condition.

Aren't these cars very mod friendly and gain great power?

There looks to be strong aftermarket support. Mine will stay stock.

What year and impression?
This is the one I was looking into getting my wife as she has been bitching about wanting another M3. Buy modern BMW and modern car standards. In general. I feel like it’s one of the best driver cars you could have. Granted I only drove it for 50mi and you can’t really push the motor in the early stages. Congrats on your purchase, you’ll love it

Nice! Solid choice. My buddy works over at the Shop CT here in CT. They specialize in the BMW and Supra platforms and he tells me there isnt another motor out there that can go 8's on a stock motor as easily.

Dope ass car and ever doper color that green is the cats ass freaking love it definately the best color.

They are quick stock but as soon as u start adding a few things they really wake up. The shop owner has the M240 and has gone 8.70's with it so far I believe. They did do some weight reduction but not much tbh.

Not to mention the thing is probably the best looking car out there currently as well.

I hope it works out for you. I wish it was ME waiting for the arrival. I'd love to own one of these!
