I'm sure everyone now knows that Amazon will be adding commercials to the "free" videos you are now paying $15/M to watch as part of your Prime membership. Luckily, you can pay an additional $3/M to skip the commercials.

This falls in line with everyone else. My wife bought Disney LBGTQP+ and Hulu, both are caulk full of commercials since she didn't pay the upcharge. I know Netflix has a whole bunch of tiered pricing to get HD video and no commercials. Lets not forget YouTube Premium for $10/m (Hint, use BRAVE)

We've come full circle basically - you had Cable TV and Premium Cable Stations to minimize commercials but everyone got sick of having to buy a $120/M bundle to get the content they wanted. Now, you have to subscribe to +5 different subscription services and pay upcharges to have a commercial free, HD viewing experience that adds up to $113.92/M, so much for saving on cutting the cable.

But that's not what I'm actually bitching about. I'm more salty that in the last 5 years Amazon as a purchasing service has become absolute trash. It's all counterfeits and Chinese knock off. Everything on it can be found on AliExpress for less but with 3-5 day shipping. Toyota and AC Delco parts sold on Amazon are counterfeit, any tool or shop supply you get is trash. The USB cords, etc suck.

Louis does a great job in this video explaining it. This has been my EXACT experience. Better off at Harbor Freight.

Can I cancel PrimeTV separately? I guess I haven't looked into canceling just the TV, but it sucks except for The Boys.

Both Amazon and eBay are sketchy for a lot things these days. Better places to go for specific types of things.

I can relate to this video 100% I have even went through the same experience on the same product. Thing is, that's nothing compared to bigger item purchases like a plasma cutter and a axis drive motor. These products are not UL rated or go through any sort of 3rd party testing. Buyer beware.

A couple good points, most off the mark, especially for the general public.

Chyna has been duplicating prints, molds, machines, processes, materials, parts, subassemblies, assemblies, devices, For Ev Ver. They will never stop. US mfrs that sub over there are ****ing stupid.

Surprise Fact: IF you give chynese sellers a bad review rating, they WILL BRIBE you with amazon coupons to get you to change your review to a good rating. I have had that happen.

I'll just say amazon is what you make of it. I know for a fact that we're ahead since we've had it.

Disney plus is ad free.

Hulu is straight trash on its ads. They are damn near 2 minutes long and at the worst times.

Honestly… I’ll likely never get rid of Amazon .. it’s too easy to get what I want in 2 days and not have to deal with shit ass in person customer service

I have YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Philo/Reelz. No ads. Commercials (most, but not all) can be skipped. I'm paying about $100/mo. less than I was paying with cable and satellite.

I understand what you're saying about the ads. It is annoying but I watch very little TV so it doesn't bother me much.

In regards to buying stuff on Amazon I stick to things that don't lend themselves to being Chinese copy cat crap. Learned my lesson with that years ago.

I buy stuff like BBQ rubs, consumable stuff for the garage and house. Amazon basics stuff like razors are pretty good.

Otherwise I avoid it for important things.

I still have cable. I really have no interest in any programming other than news, sports and movies. Along with basic cable I have HBO(8 channels), Cinemax(9 channels), Showtime(5 channels), RedZone and Shudder. I also have access to the vast libraries of those aforementioned movie channels. With this I have internet and a landline. All of that for $125 a month. Not complaining.

Most are too young to remember, but:

1) Back in the 70's when cable tv really got rolling, its selling point was that there was zero ads. You paid for zero ads.

2) Public Broadcasting System (PBS) was supposed to have zero ads. They were and continue to be, taxpayer funded, supplemented with endowments and grants from left organizations like... Ford.

Add in PBS's non-profit Children's Television Workshop (CTW), Sesame Workshop (SW). Today worth millions, probably closer to a billion.

refuse to use Amazon. i need something will get it direct or similar. Yeah pay a bit more but will not put money into that commie company. Being big dog on the block it is hard to avoid Amazon, flea bay, utube but can be done. I have seen utube videos stick a commercial in the middle of the video so you have watch them

You can buy a 250cc dirt bike on your phone while taking a shit and it will be delivered to your house within a couple of days. For $1700. This is the opposite of "sucks" IMO.

Would or have you purchased that bike?
I have sincerely given these knock offs, consumables and some tools a shot. Some are good, some are dangerous junk.

I have not. Tempting though. My experience has been mixed as well.

I did order a Cannon safe on Amazon. They delivered it for free. The delivery charge alone was $300 at the local Gander Mountain.
