I have a nice KX500… not an 80s or 90s model but they didn’t change them much over the years.

Let's see that beauty. I had a '99 that I should have never sold.

Just put a new fuel petcock on my 98 Polaris 250 Trailboss. It just keeps chugging along.

Nice. I want a scrambler 400 pretty bad. It's on the list after Banshee and atc250r.

Happy Monday!

Fixed a leak on the lt500 this weekend.. also started tearing down the top end of the first 87 250 we bought.. the one running the CT pipe. Ill get some pics up, but found some scarring on the exhaust side of the piston.

She'll get a hone and some home-brewed port work, along with a milled head and a fresh NOS Suzuki piston in .25mm over.

Back in the day. I had a new KZ400 Yamaha, 3cyl 2stroke. As well as a Suzuki GT500 2 stroke. Both of these street bikes were ****ing amazing.
I had one of those Kawasaki 3-cylinders. Could never get it to run right, but I was 13 or 14 at the time. I do remember it screaming though when I did get it going, never did idle, lol.

Finally got the cylinder back from honing. Also had the head milled .030. She should be a ripper! I'll get some pics up soon.

Good shit

So, finally got the first 87 back together. Exhaust side was galled up pretty bad. It appears this bike was on either the factory, or a factory replacement in the stock size piston.

Here it is next to an old LT500 piston haha.

Because of that damage, the cylinder needed to bored 1 size over -- .25mm. Like mentioned above, I had a NOS Suzuki OEM .25 over piston on hand so once I got the cylinder back from machine shop, together she went.

I took the time to raise the inner portions of the exhaust ports about 1mm.. this will aid in top end power. I also had the machine shop take .025" off the head. Also did a light cleaning up of the intake side.

She's got great compression now! Ready to rip.

I went try to hit 100mph two weekends ago with some 15/41 gearing down the usual cane field not so smooth road. I only managed 92mph. I couldnt ring 6th out in the distance I wanted. I have aftermarket bigger carb bowls but i still dont like to hold it wot. That's down 2mph from stock gearing (14/41 94mph). external mic didnt work so the video is trash. My banshee videos are trash anyway so there's that.

I will go back to 14/41 until I get a lighter axle and aluminum wheels to replace the current stock axle and wheels i have now. On the bright side, the dynatek cdi is working great. Spark plugs looked perfect.

That's a crazy top speed. How much power is the bike making?

Not 80's/90's, but I had a '73 Rickman Montessa 25 or 30 years ago. Had a lot of fun on that bike.

It is just on pump gas built specifically built for mid range fun. I literally told the shop i dont care about peak numbers. https://redlineracing.biz/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ragen-cajun-10-super-serval.jpg

I wish i could look at a graph and understand how a bike feels, that would me pipe selection a breeze. Due to my engine size, there isnt much out there besides in frame drag or full $2000 custom. If you look at my skill level, i should be on a 50cc.
