I got the email from PS yesterday and bought one an hour ago when my spot opened up. Contemplating flipping it. I still play my PS4 quite a bit.

I'm on my PS4 about 2 hours a day playing Destiny 2. If the PS4 ever dies...PS5.

not anything worth a shit lol

i mean yeah if you wanna run RC Tycoon, but Cyberpunk / Apex / Elden Ring will need beefier

Cyberpunk on insane mode and 4k looks sick but even a 3090 get eaten by that game. I think it's just coded badly. I can't imagine the console are ruling true 4k without super sampling.

I guess the invite is not a guarantee but just a chance:rolleyes:View attachment 1746126

FYI, the guy I bought mine from had like 10 of them and I asked what his trick was. He said he could get them from any of the big online stores but it was mostly Target buying them at like 4am Pacific time. He said Target and them Walmart were the easiest.

Got the email last night as well. Was able to get mine in about 15minutes in the que today. Not sure if I'm keeping mine or flipping it. Been trying to pick one up since launch but wasn't expecting to take this long. This will be my first PlayStation since the PS2.

I still remember buying my ps2 the day they came out, 26OCT2000. Remember it like it was yesterday.

Don't think I'll ever be that excited for a console (or whatever gaming system they come out with) in the future ever again

What does it do besides have a bigger controller? I've got the 4 and I haven't seen any games I want to play that are PS5 only. It's a bummer the controller isn't backwards compatible. My fingers lock up from the tiny controller after a while.

The controller might be the best feature of the PS5. It's seriously impressive and has easily twice the amount of functions than the PS4 controller. The PS5 graphically doesn't seem that far off from the PS4 but there is vast improvements, especially with it having ray-tracing. It's also significantly faster than the PS4 with load times being basically non-existent.

If you want to see the capabilities of the PS5 controller, play the free little adventure game AstroBot rescue or whatever one it is that is like Sony's Mario. It's actually fun to play for a game like that and showcases the controller's features. It has you legit blow onto the controller and it registers it as blowing into a fan as an action in the game. There's a Marble Madness like level where your character jumps into a ball and you control it by running your finger over the touch pad and it is all dialed in as far as sensitivity. There isn't any slop to it or lack of input. Another level has you in a monkey suit and you rock climb by tilting the controller to reach and holding down L2 or R2 to grasp each hand. The game is basically made to showcase the controller and it's a good free game.

Disc. Going to get GT7 for sure. Then probably a button masher.
