I sent my heads in bare (minus the valve guides which i let them press out)....

Lead time will depend on what you want done.....they offer many different "stages" of build from just freshening the heads up to a stage 4 port....they have it all laid out on their website.

In addition to that they offer an assembly service if you'd like the cams/followers/lash adjusters/etc installed but i'd rather do that myself so I can time the motor first. They offer a full range of cams you can choose from.

My lead time was about 4 months but its covid times and there was a big shortage on valves they were waiting on for a couple months and they were super backed up. In normal times, its 4-6 weeks.
I'm between $4,500 and 7K pending if I do porting and cams. $800 is for cores. I don’t think porting is worth it without cams but I'm not sure I want to deal with the drivability issues of a cam car. I have some decisions to make but thank you for all your input!

I have 2 nozzles mounted in the lower intake. Placing the nozzles after the blower will help get liquid water/methanol into the combustion chamber to improve detonation resistance (octane). Placing the nozzles before the blower will cool the blower and lower intake air temps but have a smaller improvement in detonation resistance. So pre/post blower are both viable locations, it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Having said that, most people go with pre-blower simply because it's easier.

What about plumbing a pipe through the ports? There's a guy on here with nitrous plumbed that way. It's injected directly into the intake port. Or does the meth need time to atomize a little more in the air stream?

JFC been watching the retard at the inspection place try and drive my car in for five minutes.

Edit: stalled twice. Clearly starting in 3rd. Told him that. Stalled again. I motioned for someone to help him and that guy did slightly better. FFS.

wow! never knew built heads were that much for our cars

Fully worked/ported/valve job/seals/springs/retainers/new valves/guides/new seats....etc yea about $4k and change, not including the cores. And that's somewhat of a bargain compared to what the big name shops charge like Livernois. Fox Lake used to produce some nice stuff for much less but they went out of business because the owner retired.

The above doesn't include other bits like GT500 lash adjuster , followers if you go with the good stuff, custom grinds, cam gears, secondaries, upgraded tensioners and chains, cam bolts, etc etc..........easily in the $7k range if you're going for top shelf set of heads. You can do it for about half that if you just want a set freshened, valve job, new seals, etc.

I could have built an entire LS motor for what I have in just the heads. These cars are stupid expensive to build.

Great progress being made! The mistress got jewelry for Valentine’s Day, IRS is all powdercoated and back in. Coilovers and GForce outlaw axles showed up along with new bigger turbos. It’s closer to being done!

That powder coating almost makes me want to pull mine out for coating. Almost.

The Kmember was looking rough, Joe chose a great color to match the front and back, giving it a better show quality type of build. Would have been tons less money to go SRA but I think it’s worth every penny to keep the IRS. We have a Glens performance tank that I bought of a member here a few years ago that is now powdercoated the evo gray that’s prevalent underneath the hood. It will look as good underneath as it will on the outside

It looks really good. Powder coating the IRS and K member is one of the future goals. Your pics make me want to do it a little more.

Man I’d love to get time some Weld’s for both of mine. They’re just so damn hard to get these days! Great looking build though! Keep it up!

The powder-coating came out really, really nice. Definitely show quality stuff there. You're going to get tons of compliments on your Cobra once it is finished and back on the road.
