Did the entire Full Tilt Boogie kit along with an Eaton True-Trac, 3.73 gear and Eibach sway bar. It's crazy how much of a difference this mod makes. Feels like a different car.

Also, put on some proper brakes along with Hawk HPS pads.

Tires are coming next. Can't wait to get some good tires on there so I can really push it!

@Albatross, that a nice setup. Yeah, FTB definitely offers up great suspension mods. Glad you're happy with your own setup. Nice choice on the Hawk pads.

This forum is such tremendous technical resource! I sold my first Cobra in 2008, and I recently got back in to the Cobra scene with the purchase of a 2003 DSG Cobra with 17,300 miles. First order of business is a tune up and fresh fluids. After much searching, I've decided to begin with the following maintenance items before going for power adders:

Engine Oil: Mobil1 5W-20. Not as sexy as RP or Amsoil, but still very good. Makes sense because I change my oil regularly even with minimal use.
Engine Oil Filter: Motorcraft.
Transmission Fluid: Mobil1 ATF (recommended by Tremec and many SVTP members).
Rear: You guessed it, Mobil1 75-140 (includes friction modifier).
Fuel Filter: FG1060 (supersedes FG800A).
Sparkplugs: NGK TR6 gapped to .035. Still running stock blower with 2.93 pulley.

This probably doesn't sound too exciting, but as the third owner of a 17 year old car, I think these are important and prudent measures to take before chasing those big dyno numbers.

Thanks! Do you go to the Saturday Kemah meets anymore? I went out there two weekends ago, hoping to go next weekend weather pending.

Not in a long time. The most recent meet I've been to is the Lowes at 518/pearland pkwy that they would have on Fridays....but I figured those have been canceled with the virus crap. Good to know the Kemah one is still happening....might make it if the weather looks decent.

I bought a pulley off a fellow member for my dyno appointment coming up next week.
What are you shooting for, as far as power, with your pulley and dyno appointment? Is it being re-tuned with the new pulley, or are you using the same tune?

New tunes. I stepped up injector size, so doing a new tune for the same current pulley combo (22 psi) and a 26 psi setup. To be on the safe side I am figuring mid 800's but hopeful for high 800's. Should be interesting.

Definitely going to be interesting. If you're at 785whp now and you see 875+ on the new tune, you're going to have an eye opening first few minutes back on the road.:D

Just Fixed a broken idler bracket stud that holds the bracket to the top of the timing chain cover/Head.
Anyone else have this issue ever or suggestions?
Maybe JB weld under the bracket so it sits on something?
Also I would think the bracket would sit all the way down into the valley to help relieve some pressure off the bolt?
I'm looking for a grade 10 bolt to switch out for the bottom section.

Same situation as me. I sold my first terminator in 2007 and just purchased another at the end of June. Changed every fluid and filter in the car two weeks ago and I used just about all the same stuff as you (used merconV in the trans, everything else the same). my car has 33k on it but at 17 years old i wanted to get a good baseline as a starting point.

I had the steering column pod gauge but recently has my oil gauge stop working and reached out to @TRBO VNM for some speed hut gauges. TRBO VNM sorry for not responding to your PM about the shipment. I have not been on SVTP in awhile and thank you for all your help! I was surprised when they showed up on the door step. I like the look of the dual pod cluster.

No pics but I upgraded my old autometer C2 gauges to innovate. Electronic Boost & fuel pressure to go along with the wideband I allready had from them. I tell ya with a map sensor the boost reading is much more precise then the aurometer analog I had in there, fuel pressure seems to be spot-on too. Much more precise than the old autometer gauges I had.

Quick update -
Engine is just about completed.
Got it real close now. The stock balancer was installed, but I decided that I don't trust it, and having Melvin order/install a new aftermarket onto it. He is also going to have my lower intake painted black to match my timing cover.
Those Oliver rods or knock offs?

Getting closer. This was just the sample for Malcolm to make the base file. I've be crazy busy with work so it only took me 3 week to get him the sample and the station is a mile from my house.

Did a little sprucing up last night.
Before:

After:

And because some of you may be wondering...Yes, I even got the two lower cam cover bolts on the driver’s side. It was a delicate procedure using some unconventional tools and pre-planned movements, but I got ‘em dammit!

All I have left is to reattach the filter to the intake. Naturally it came off when I reinstalled the throttle body and intake tube at the very end.
