"under the law, family, the police, a list of people really can ask for the protective order to remove weapons but in this case its not clear who petitioned the court."

interesting.

Through some FB friends that are LE on the East coast they had said it was supposedly his sister that initially filed against him after some dispute they had, and this was her way of getting back at him. It's not verified however.

I wouldn't want to be the LEO with that duty.
Ya this is a recipe for disaster. I'm sure in some cases there is a justification for removing the guns. Regardless, it's just a bad situation. I could only imagine reading the petition and history wondering what is true or BS. Telling myself I'm not taking any chances and well....above is what happens.

Just sucks that there will probably be as many BS petitions as legit ones.

There have been many occasions when we needed to take guns away from some people. They were clearly mentally unstable and a serious threat to others. It was frustrating because there is no petition here to confiscate thier guns. Typically we would just disable the firearm when they weren't looking.
Only a hardcore leftist would take guns unjustifiably. Most cases should not be granted, but there are instances when it needs to happen.

Not exactly talking about the instance in this video but just the new laws in general and what amazes me when no crime is committed your 2nd amendment right apparently can be overruled by anyone and then your basically guilty until you prove yourself innocent, That to me is scary. Now if people are making a call to action (violence) claim or actually committing a crime that's a different story.

There are a few instances I could think of where it's just smart to be able to take them. There will never be a time in our lives when your guns will be confiscated for the sake of doing so.

I've had close calls around here, I don't really own any weapons but my family members do and there was a stint a few years back where they were attempting to grab peoples weapons don't remember exactly what it was about. Wouldn't have ended well, not enough cops had been willing to take lives for things they didn't even believe in and were attempted to enforce when the people fought back basically saying they had guns to protect them from not only officials but theifs and such. But it can all go backwards to, my last stint working on base we had 2 gate runners in 5 months that got through when the MP's at the main gate had rifles and AP rounds along with the hydraulic lifting gate and should have just shot their ass on the spot. Guns are iffy which is why I don't really own any except some mild stuff like pellet guns because it won't kill you but you sure as hell don't want to be shot with one close up either, but I've had them pointed at me and gotten super pissed off to almost red in the face which probably wouldn't have ended well on my end. Then again I worked at 4am and rode my r6 to work every morning so when gate runners or the cop killer that came through so-cal few years back the MP's were aimin at anyone even though they knew my bike, just pissed me off knowing one oops and it could have been the end.

I own a pellet rifle that will kill you just as quick as any other gun. Mine is not a toy at all.

First off "IF" there is ever a reason to confiscate a person's gun it should be done with due process in a court of law where the person in question can answer the charges.

If they are in fact deemed incompetent they should be served a warrant and allowed time to transfer the weapons properly. None of this No Knock 4am bullshit. I am a very, very strong supporter of law enforcement but God help the person who comes through my door to take my guns.

Uhm, that dude kinda proved that whoever reported him was right, no?

According to bad law though. If a civil war broke out because Democrats passed a gun confiscation law would you say the same thing? Or would you say they are protecting their Constitutional rights? The same thing happened to this guy just on a singular level. Hypothetically they could do this to each of us one by one and that is how it would be excused.

LOL

No amount of need to "protect my Constitutional Rights" is going to make me want to risk my family's safety, and that of peace officers just doing their jobs.

If someone flags me (not that this law will EVER pass in AZ):
  1. I'll hand them over peacefully.
  2. Find out why and what I did to get flagged.
  3. If justified, maybe seek help?
  4. If bad call or prank? I get rich suing someone.
  5. If bad law or application of the law? See #4.
Things I won't do:
  1. Endanger my family, myself, and the police by being a stubborn, unreasonable jackass.

I mean, how much of an unreasonable moron do you have to be to sit there and attempt to start a gunfight with a squad of officers because "muh' rights!" It just tells me you're the kind of moron who shouldn't be packing a BB gun, much less anything that carries powder.
