I priced out Ranger crew cab with 302a XLT 4x4 with Fx4 option and 18" rims, payload Ranger below

It is a turbo 2.3. Mountain air doesn't really have a huge impact on forced induction.

^ That depends. If the turbo is near maxed out at sea level then it's not going to do well at elevation.

I would not hold my breath. Ford continues to disappoint with awesome vehicles but pathetic engine choices. I'm betting money they puss-out and don't even put a V6 in the Raptor.
What v6 should they use?

Unlikely. Its the same Motor in many platforms

Yep, I've already ordered several.

On a loaded Ranger that has an MSRP of $44,970, the invoice is $43,020.40. Just under $2k mark-up.
So a client spends $45k and you make only $2k or about 4%. That’s sucks!
That’s before all of your other costs....
And if you don’t sell them at msrp...

Sure glad you have parts and service to keep your dealer afloat:)

The 2.7 Ecoboost at the very least, and really it ought to get the 3.5. I don't like V6s, I'd much rather have a V8, but I'd consider it if they put the 3.5 in it.

They won’t put a v6 in it as that would cause people to buy it vs a f150.

I’m curious to see what the interior room is like. It actually would fit everything I need in a truck. But I love the room my F150 has.

If only they'd bring MSRP haha I'm expecting a $400-600 profit margin and hope you get a nice trade-in at a reasonable price.

Sounds like you need a bigger garage.
Well, the 40x80 is for the toys and inconvenient for the daily. Plus if it's a tight fit in the 3.5 attached, I know it'll be a b**ch in most day to day spots.
I don't really need huge towing or trail use, but a tuned 2.7 TT Ranger sized Raptor checks the boxes I'm interested in.
I'm not a first year buyer, but I see potential in this model.

Man that's rough for margins!
And I hope I speak for many who appreciate your unique insight.

Margins in the car business are next to nothing any more. The only way dealerships stay in business is their service department.

It'll never happen. Its getting a diesel and that's about it. My guess is the raptor gets a motor similar to the rs or mustang.

The t6 platform has only ever had inline engines(4 and 5) do wedging a tt v6 isnt just plug and play.

Let's be honest, if you are buying a 4 cylinder truck you want cheap. 25K-30k MAX or box it up and send it baack to the engineers.

I guess this doesn't mean nothing cuz 4 cylinder.
* With best-in-class 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger can carry serious gear
* Ranger’s proven 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine beats the V6 gasoline engines from midsize truck competitors to deliver best-in-class 310 lb.-ft. of torque while towing and climbing trails
* Best-in-class gasoline engine towing capability of 7,500 pounds with available tow package beats V6-powered competitors to make the all-new Ford Ranger the champ for getting campers to their sites and boats to the slip

There are so many dealer owners/prinicipals/and GMs that see the service department as a "necessary evil". Selling cars is important, sure. But without service there is no warranty guarantee.

I wonder what the weight difference is between similar configured rangers and f150s? Considering ones steel and ones aluminum bodied.
