  • With best-in-class 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger can carry serious gear
  • Ranger’s proven 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine beats the V6 gasoline engines from midsize truck competitors to deliver best-in-class 310 lb.-ft. of torque while towing and climbing trails
  • Best-in-class gasoline engine towing capability of 7,500 pounds with available tow package beats V6-powered competitors to make the all-new Ford Ranger the champ for getting campers to their sites and boats to the slip
DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 5, 2018 – It’s almost here. As the 2019 Built Ford Tough Ranger nears production, Ford announces its all-new midsize pickup for North America will deliver best-in-class payload, gas torque and towing capability.

“Think of Ranger as the biggest and most capable backpack for your gear,” says Rick Bolt, Ford Ranger chief engineer. “With 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, Ranger can haul nearly a ton of gear to enable your next adventure.”

The 2019 Ford Ranger’s standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost® produces 270 horsepower and, more importantly, 310 lb.-ft. of torque – the most engine-turning power of any gas engine in the midsize pickup segment, including V6 engines from competitors.

Paired with a class-exclusive 10-speed transmission, Ranger features a unique combination of power and capability that only comes from a truck that’s Built Ford Tough.

Anchored by a high-strength steel frame and robust solid rear axle with Hotchkiss suspension, Ranger can conventionally tow more than any gas engine truck in its class – 7,500 pounds when equipped with the tow package and a trailer brake controller.

Production begins later this year at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

Ford and GM both made their midsize truck to big and to close in price or even more when you add how aggressive dealers are with full size. It will limit their sales numbers dramatically.

That’s awesome that it’s beating the competition in that aspect. Hope the sell a lot. That said I love my F-150.

Still waiting to see if they’ll do the 2.7 Ecoboost for Raptor Ranger. I’ll be a buyer if they do as will many others. I’m not sure the Raptor F150 would fit in our garage

My spec would $36k for the stx fx4 and $41k for xlt fx4.

One can purchase the F150 STX FX4 for $36k. Crazy...
Yep, interesting to see what real world price will be.
I still can’t see why they abandoned the previous very effective Ranger model. Many people still want a useful small truck!

Thankfully since it is a Ford, we can expect deep incentives once it arrives on the lot
Don’t confuse the Camaro with Fords....

Trucks because they are more expensive do have steep discounts. Most of not all manufacturers have them.

The ranger was virtually unchanged from 93-11. It was a cash cow at the end.
However they lost market share to the Tacoma double cab in the 00’s. Ford and their unwillingness to create a new long body Ranger was the reason it died.

Speaking of today’s Tacoma looks sweet imo. And you can still get it with a stick hmmm.

I bought a 98' regular cab, 5 speed, 4 banger new and put 210K miles on it getting 30mpg. In 05' I bought the same configuration ranger that I still daily drive to this day getting 30mpg and it is almost 280K miles. Hauled tons of shit in both with just regular maintenance items and nether one ever left me stranded.

Still kicking myself in the ass for not picking up a new 11' before they discontinued the ranger.

In today's market these trucks are small.

Look at a new f350...

This is my super duty vs my son's ranger
