My spec would $36k for the stx fx4 and $41k for xlt fx4.

One can purchase the F150 STX FX4 for $36k. Crazy...
Why would anyone waste money on a Ranger when a full size truck is the same in regard to price?

The typical depreciation on a small or midsized truck is also a reason to stick with a full size.

Space. Not everyone has room to park. A lot of city folk like out door shit.

Tacoma sales vs tundra sales...

Agreed. But many would still want the Ranger in its former size. I’d bet the new Ranger is similar to a ‘90s F150.

It's exactly the same size as the Tacoma and Colorado. So why make it smaller than the class leaders?

Just for fun

2019 Ranger(cc/sb)
127" wb
211" length
72.8" wide
71.5" tall

2011 ranger(sc/lb)
125.9" wb
203.6" length
67" width
71" height

You'll see the only real change is total length and width.

1996 F150(sc/sb) best selling
138.8 wb
219.1 length
78" width
70.8" height

You'll see its much closer to it's predecessor than the f150...

Thanks for the clarification.
I do see you're quoting long bed from the earlier gen, but still informative.
I can see why you'd target the current class competition but I still think many miss the compact nature of a true small truck.
Either way I'm glad the Ranger is back.

I read that wrong. In 2011 there were only 2 whheel bases. Reg cab or super cab.

So the length I used was super cab 4x4.

Wasn't space for me, it was options. My loaded z71 Colorado has every option and cost the same (to be fair, after discounts and rebates) as a bare bones F-150 with the 2.7L and 4x4. At the end of the day, I really wanted an F-150, but I was not about to pay over $35k for what was essentially a base model...

Are they going to offer a V-6 in the Truck? Sorry I really don't like 4 cylinders especially living in the mountains of West Virginia.

It is a turbo 2.3. Mountain air doesn't really have a huge impact on forced induction.

And Im over here like "Hold on buying go fast parts for Shelby to get an Excursion for 3-4K? hmmm.... that's a lot of cash" lol

Has potential, and I think the build quality will be well done. We'll see what the market will bear on transaction pricing.

No the 310 ft/lbs are almost 50 more than the f150s v6 and it comes on 1000rpm sooner.... Why back track?

Correct and you see a lot of f150 being advertised for $9k-11k off of msrp. Bringing the f150 you built to $32k.

I'm just going off of what you posted. I know there are incentives but I'm not comparing Ranger prices without incentives to F150 prices with incentives.

Looks impressive on paper. I’ll keep my distance from it until we get 4-5 years into production. In that segment, the Tacoma is just so freakin’ good.

If it moves anything like the Lincoln MKC 2.3 I drove, it'll do just fine cruising the mountains.

I would not hold my breath. Ford continues to disappoint with awesome vehicles but pathetic engine choices. I'm betting money they puss-out and don't even put a V6 in the Raptor.
