somehow magic happened and while spinning it with the drill off the car, I felt resistance for the first time and everything works now.
This was a wild ride.
What's weird is the pump isn't making any noise. I just took the pump off but left it connected, ran it with a drill and I'm seeing it pump fluid as I had air bubbles from disconnecting the line and reconnecting it. Fluid rises when drill is on, fluid drops when drill is off. I know for sure its...
this whole situation contradicts itself, or I just do not understand the power steering/hydroboost enough to know Why it is doing what it is doing.
I bench tested the pump before putting it on, i.e. Funnel filled with fluid on the low side, spin the wheel with my drill and squirt the roof from...
I'm probably up there.
I've already bought and installed two pumps so I'm trying to try a different approach before I swap it again.
What bothers me is I can feel resistance from fluid being pushed around by the rack. The pump isn't making any horrible noises so it's not starved I would think...
I've got nearly 175k, so I think to myself. you know what I should replace the steering rack, p/s pump, and A/c clutch. Everything is back together, turned the wheel lock to lock a couple of times and turned her on, repeat. Okay cool, steering feels better than before. I put it back on the...
I bought a pump from rock auto, it's the same as what came off my car. Internally it's the same.
Difference being rock auto doesn't have pullied pumps in stock, lmr has theirs with pulley installed.
I would get it with pully.. I broke two bolts in my two pumps trying to install a new pulley lol.
Let the car idle in my driveway for about 15min and never really went over 180. Drove to work and again, never went over 200ish, it just hit 200ish and dropped to 170s at some point so I thought my tstat opened and my sensor was malfunctioning due to low coolant.
-My thoughts are that I have...
Think of it as a Y, not an arrow lol. Sorry for confusion. Just making sure the overflow before the thermostat is right, or should I flip the housing and make the overflow plug in after the thermostat for pre 200* operations.
here is a rough diagram on my setup. I'm running a 180* thermostat in a MMR housing after the radiator. it has a plug I was able to run the overflow tank to before the thermostat. I opted for the Y-Block with the radiator cap option, but I'm using the hole to run my temp sensor. My issue is I'm...
Shit started going downhill when i went to pick up my car after i shipped it from Hawaii to Los Angelos. about 4hrs into my 6hr trip my water pump completely took a shit. I'm talking bearings exploded and the pulley was wobbly as hell. i managed to pull off into a gas station and have my wife...
I am in fairfield and might be able to help you out. Shipping is expensive though..then again last time I bought a seat on ebay it was 2 halves and to Hawaii. See if it's worth it after shipping from 94533?
I already installed the longtubes, so no worries there. I was on an install high and felt I could do anything after rebuilding the IRS with new bearings and clutches lol. I also put in the Ford motorsport differential brace, MM IRS tie rods, and do believe I changed out the suffrage bushings to...
So deployment is coming to an end and I ordered a bunch of goodies. I intended to treat myself to a 2.3L whipple, but shipping to Hawaii is around 300-600$. Instead I decided I would be responsible and install supporting mods for it and hopefully get one when I move back to the mainland at the...
