Oh yes! I remember the other major purchases I wanted to get for the car. I'd like to add a light bar and buy a hard tonneau cover.

Any feedback on those would be appreciated. Also best place to buy? Or if I'd be ok buying those things used?

now you're talking. As a matter of fact you'd be set if you just bought those two things. VERY classy, sporty and fits perfectly with the theme of a cobra vert. You can surely get them used since you'll like need the cover painted anyway. For the styling bar though go to classic design concepts:beer: That's the one I have and I love it.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I forgot to add these to the list earlier because in order of priority I want to do: rally stripes, light bar, tonneau, tail lights, head lights.

Is classic design concepts an online company? And where's the best place to look for used parts if I can't find them on this forum?

The tranny doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. Everything that I was talking to my mechanic about suggested synchros but I have it out today and adjusted how I drive like he suggested and I don't really seem to be having the issue I was before (trouble shifting from 2nd to 3rd about 50% of the time). I'm still learning how to drive this car because it reacts drastically different than my old elantra, and I have never had anyone to teach me how to drive it properly...so this is kind of a learning game for me.

As for the stripes, I just haven't seen too many people with stripes on theirs so I have to take a wild guess at whether or not I'm going to like them. But the all white car is just too much for me. I need to break up the white with a little bit of color....and I'd really like something that makes my white car stand out a little bit.

The lightbar is something I'd like to do first before the hard tonneau because I like that look a lot.

Actually I really do appreciate the opinions. That's why I posted it here. Because I want feedback. I may not always take the advice given to me, but at least it gives me food for thought :)

Trust me, there will probably be plenty of things I do to the car first before asking, and then I'll post pictures later :p

Wow! You guys can talk alot :). I saw this thread and I thought it was a old one seeing more then 5 pages. Lol

Well as you see I am new also. A few months ago I picked up a 99 convertible with 31k miles. All stock except for a K&N. I had a 98 a few years ago and missed it.

I too want to add the light bar. But I also say pass on the tail lights. These cars are a bunch of fun for sure no matter what you do to them. I'm going to hit the track this weekend and see how she does. I just bought an exhaut off here and a SCT tuner. Hopefully I'll be in the high 13's. Enough of my talk. Back to your car!

wow.
6 pages .... i read through about half of it... because its hard to filter out the garbage. lol.

i see you are in the springs. thats a great place for cars and shops. I personally suggest:

Heads By Drew - Aurora, CO.
He is the best in the business. when you want heads that handle 1,000 horsepower. you go to Drew.

FinishLine Performance - Denver, CO.
These guys are a small-time shop with an in-house dyno shop. They have worked out great for me so far.

Take a look at:
ColoradoStangs, Colorado's #1 Mustang Forum
Sinister Stangs
(i am a member of CO stangs, and an ex-member of sinister.)
both are a great group of people who love to hang out and talk shop.

as for your car:
(in this order)
gears
pulleys
exhaust
intake
ignition.

These are basic upgrade taht wont require a tune and everything (except gears) can be done in your garage to save money. Great way to start modding, great way to learn about cars, and a good start to modifying your car.

if you are searching for anything faster than 13.000 (here at Bandimere) youll probably have to start looking into a power adder (supercharger, turbo, n2o.) With our altitude here in CO, you will struggle without an adder.

if you need help with anything, or a suggestion of a shop to take your car to for professional service, just PM me; as i wont spend anymore of my time reading these leg-humpers' posts... lol.

good luck with the car! enjoy the ride!

So if I'm looking to do purely appearance mods, or rather, mods that aren't going to change the performance, what order would you suggest I do them in? I'd kind of like to leave the engine as-is for the time being. I'm happy with it, and I really need to learn to drive it better before I start adding more power to it that I likely couldn't handle anyhow at the moment.

The light bar for sure. Then you could do side mirrors that are paint matched like the 03/04 cobra's. There are always rims and tires. For the inside all the aluminum knobs that you could ever want. Even dress up parts for under the hood. Trust me that there is a plethora of bling parts for our cars.
But remember one thing: It's and addiction and once you start you can't stop!:)
