If you're not away from a computer entirely....Remember this...

Anytime you do a bolt-on mod that affects the air/fuel volume or mess with plug gaps, the proper thing to do should be to reset the computer in order for it to learn and adjust for the new setup it's dealing with...

I suggest to take it for a short calm NON-SPIRITED drive so that the drive cycle mode can complete the learn process of the new settings in order to get 100% accurate results.

(Any time you disconnect the battery, the car goes into drive cycle mode. This is a re-learning mode that the computer runs itself through in order to adjust for all new settings).

I can't wait!!!

Ok everyone, here are the results. i was very happy with what my car put down and even happier after the KarKraft intake spacer. i did 2 base runs after resetting the ecu and performing drive cycle's as requested, and reset ecu after install and performed drive cycle's one more. The car gained power and torque through out the whole powerband, and extended my usable power as well. i will go back to the shop this week and get another printout of afr and torque as well. afr stayed very constant through all runs. starting at about 13.0 and going up to 13.4

Mods:
K & N filter
Bassani off road X
SLP Lm catback, But with Borla XR1's Mufflers installed
Programmer
KarKraft intake spacer :rolling:
4.10 gears

So it looks like its a pretty decent mod. Wonder why it drops after about 6500rpm. Honestly we don't shift our car that high anyway... so good mod. Thanks for the time and efforts!!!!

ya i am very pleased with the results. the only reason i think it could drop like that is because of the stock cam size and the extra air in the intake slowing down at the end of the powerband causing the quicker dropoff

The nice part about that little drop is that it is definitive proof you made a change and it wasn't some "fluke".

A+

Very good numbers. Very good gains. It sounds like I need to add yet another bolt on to the cobra.

I'm impressed with the results. Isn't 13.4 a/f a little high for our cars? Also why do we shift at redline if it drops off like that?

ya it is a little high, i would have liked for it to stay at 13 but my car has a program on it but no programmer with it so i cant change it. the guy i bought it from thinks he sold it and doesnt remember which one it was. in about 2 weeks i will be buying a programmer and a jlt rai and will throw it back on the dyno for tuning and more results.

Nice power numbers but I wonder what the guys that rip through the gears at 7K are gonna feel about that pretty large drop at 6500??
I wonder if the JLT RAI will help extend the powerband a couple hundred more rpms over the stock air box? anxious to see those new numbers!

How much is this mod and where did you order it from? How hard is the install?
I'm stuck, I mean stationed in Germany so my mechanics are super limited, and I'm by no means a mechanic myself so if it goes beyond medium difficulity I might have to wait.

That drop off worries me, but it would be nice to have all those gains earlier in a street car. Nice job being a guinea pig.

The install is about as easy as you can get. You just unbolt the top hat of the intake, install the spacer, and reinstall the hat. With gaskets of course. There are a couple other things that you'd have to move, but it is really easy.

I know what you guys are talking about with the drop off but I don't, if that makes sense. For the kind of driving I do I don't usually shift after 6k, so is this something that should worry me if I were to do this mod?

Where are you guys going to order this from? How much does the spacer cost? I think I can do this myself. I wonder if that would get me over the 300/300 mark, that's my goal.
