yep, why do people continue to blame imports when it is the union that is at fault. sorry but NO line worker deserves more than 8.00 an hour period. its called unskilled labor and should be paid as such. paying for healthcare after they dont work anymore is just plain stupid.

these idiot union workers feel great about making 70k a year, then question why their product has been priced so damn high. shit i just drove a 2009 ram 1500 2WD with a sticker of 45k. 45k for 2WD? **** you union workers, its your outragous saleries and benefits that has priced the big 3 out of its market. hope you enjoy flipping burgers next year when your employer is bankrupt, burger king is unskilled labor also.

This is Quite Possibly the most offensive post ive ever read towards Unions...

Im a Member of IBEW(International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and Ive never in my life read something so out of touch with reality.

1: Employee Pay makes up a minimal of any company's budget.
(its less than 10% in the Power industry)

2: Not everyone in the union is a "Line worker" are some jobs abit over paid? possibly. but i know of NO line worker making 70k a year without MASSIVE Seniority and INCREDIBLY HIGH Amounts of overtime.

3. Unions = Premium Work for Premium Pay. If you want to make a shit car, take it to mexico where theyll work for a Burrito eachday.

You sir, are whats wrong with America. Not the Unions. Without Unions, even those people that are Scabs would be suffering since its the Unions that fight the company to maintain solid benefits which become the industry standard.

It's real easy to tell in here who has never worked in an asembly plant. I worked in several and I can tell you one thing: when you first start working on an assembly line you'll be amazed at how difficult most of those "easy" looking jobs are!

You said it yourself, "when you first start working on an assembly line". Once you do it repetitively it gets to be something that's done without thought or skill. That's the thing, anyone can do it. All the tools you will ever need is handed to you (or even tied to your work area) and it doesn't take much thought after you've been trained. Just get in a daze of doing it and keep on till it's time to clock out. Trust me I've worked on a line before, just not in the automotive field and it does 'suck', I know. Waiting for a floater to relieve you for a break, or to go to the bathroom, doing the samething what seems like countless times per day. With all that said, no one doing that deserves to make what some of the UAW members make, there's no way to justify it.

I work in a more skilled field now where things constantly change and you get the chance to see and deal with issues randomly. I've been training as a helper for almost 2 years on a extrusion laminator and will for several more years before I become an operator and make over 20$ an hour. I work for my money 12 hours at a time. My company doesn't have a union and is very anti union yet I have better benifits then most and cant complain about my pay rate or workplace enviroment/safety. The hours and schedule yeah, but that's about it. Some people should just take what's literally handed to them and do what they need to do to earn a living.

Personally, I can't image the drudgery of doing something over and over again all day everyday....until you wake up one day and your 50.

I couldn't do it.....God bless those that can, and try to provide us with a good proudct that is affordable.

My complaint is that the pricing on Ford products is WAY too high.

I know better than to blame the worker.....not while management is raking in the BIG bucks, and getting golden parachutes when they F up and leave.

If you are Anti-Ford....

Then why are you on the Ford Performance website?

Please explain......

~Joe

well, I own a ford (that im not a huge fan of). I used to be into cobras, and as such, I signed up a long time ago. Over the years, I've accumulated a significant amount of knowledge about the new edge cobras. Im still around because I like to provide assistance to those who need it in the new edge forum.

Yes, a fully loaded used 2005 S class with 27k miles that stickered for $115,000.

how does that not qualify as a "luxury daily driver"?

27k = bazillion miles?

you obviously belong on the assembly line because your brain function is a little too slow for other endeavors.

why are we talking about the power industry?

premium work my ass, and in case you dont we do manufacture cars in mexico and they have the same build quality as the union cars.

please tell me why UNSKILLED labor deserves premium pay. thats what is so stupid about unions they feel every one deserves close to the same pay and benefits. they protect crappy workers, hold companies at bay with retarded rules.

Ford customer service sucks big time. It's ok if you don't build the best product but fix your mistakes and don't piss on your customers. I currently own a Nissan truck, Jeep Commander and my 03 Cobra and when I went into to Nissan they would handle any problem without issue and Ford never did. And this is not my first Ford to boot.

Well, if you look thru this thread you'll see that I own a Honda as a DD and I think that line work is unskilled and the laborers are overpaid. That being said, I think your view of the union protecting the "crappy workers" is out of line. Can you honestly say that without the unions Ford and GM would treat their unskilled labor force well? I don't think so. Its the very reason the union was created! Ford and GM have done it to themselves and now they're paying for it big time!
