This is a great thread! I work in the aftermarket selling parts, and yes there is alot of crap on the market.I am just starting to mod the Cobra and dont want to make all of the same mistakes I did with my 98 Cobra! So keep the good advice flowing.

Any reason in particular? Mine has worked great, though I plan on switching to a Powershot filter and maybe adding a JLT pipe.

Nothing wrong with the filter itself, but the shield is a flimsy POS and fit so poorly it was essentially useless. I had to hack the hell out of it to keep it off the AC lines and wiring harnesses, and there's no provision for securing the filter assembly which leaves it bouncing around. Not a good thing for a sensitive MAF.

I have the same one on my 98 Cobra. The plastic shield is notched to support the MAF. Did you "hack" the area where the MAF goes? It took alittle work to get it in and fit right , but isnt that what hotroding is all about?

I regret all of my exhaust mods.

Bassani Headers because they leak. The installation was expensive and not worth the gains and additional noise.

Bassani X pipe. The cats are always screwing up. I'm on my 3rd set and not worth the additional noise. It also hangs too damn low.

Steeda catback. WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too much drone. This mod was the biggest waste of 600 dollars. No improvement on the dyno over a stock catback. ZERO!

If I was to do it all over again a KB would be my frist mod. I would leave the exhaust stock, throw in a solid axle, replace the injectors, maf, tb, shifter, cai.

Spec3i clutch. WAY WAY WAY too grabby for my taste.

My Bassani headers leaked until after tightening the bolts for the third time and now no leaks at all. I have the Bassani O/R X-pipe so no cats to worry about. My Steeda catback has no noticeable drone at all.

Like the others, I've had no problems with my AR CAI either. Good fit, good support of the MAF.

Cruise control doesn't work well with the Accufab TB?

Mine hesitates alot after I install the Accubfab TB. Sometimes it works right away and other times it takes a few tries. Really sucked when I went on my road trip home.

Oh the belts are fine..It's those motoblue-brand pullies that RPM sells that are garbage...Lemmie tell ya,belts arnt cheap & replacing them every 1000 miles is udder BS.The only thing worse is the fact that RPM won't make it right. So whats the solution?A pully made by whipple..

I really haven't had any trouble with my pullies from Rpmoutlet, but wished I went with Billetflow. Which I think I might do now after my steig. port.

D&D Super HD clutch, died in 4k miles
Spec3 clutch, too grabby, lots of chatter.
Electric cutouts, expensive, leaked, lost hp and tq
Sequential turn signals, 3 modules failed, blinks u l t r a slow (looks cool tho..)
8.8 live axle, expensive, worse handling, rougher ride (killed hop tho...)
3.73 gears when I shoulda done 390's
Focus Pumps (hindsight, now the BAP is better)
LFP HE (too small, Get a gords)
UPR FireWall adj, (pure junk, never stays tight)
PRO 5.0 (noisy, MGW is the only one!)
Lakewood DSL (junk, design is too narrow, assembly bolts hit the driveshaft, get a Metco)
Clifford 8000 alarm (proximity always setting it off)
Steeda CAI (nearly cut an air conditioning line)
Borla Stinger, utterly deafening, forget using your phone/radio or ever talking to passengers. (this was with catted Bassani X, which is a great mod)

and buying a convertible with the stupidest god damn dirt/scum/crap magnet fabric for a top ever concieved by man when I shoulda bought a coupe in the first place.

Your supposed to take the belt off first. :??: I took me 5mins to put it on and 2mins to take it off????
Of course you take the belt off first! Duh. Their idler is basically a press fit onto their bracket so you need to go at it with a hammer and block of wood to get it off. Unless you have some kind of puller that fits it. The Steeda guy told me to just "tap" it off. Yea, right.

Yep, no point to it unless you live where you can drop it more than 4 days a year. Actually no point to it over 65mph (wind abuse) or under 60 degrees (freezing) or over 80 degrees (sweating)

I am cured forever.

The Densecharger. Looks like something you can make at home depot.
The flowmaster cat back didn't fit and I had to have a muffler shop hack it in.

Really, I just got my stingers on today, and was on the phone for about 25 minutes and was fine, ears a little too sensitive maybe? I'm pondering the MRT h-pipe (catted) to make it louder under WOT, I can notice a little louder under cruising but thats fine for me, I only wanna hear it when i STOMP.

My ears too sensitive? After about 40 rock and metal concerts in the 80's and 50K+ rounds downrange from every gun btwn 22lr and 50BMG for 20 years. I still miraculously got about 50% in the right and 65% in the left.

Stingers are fine with stock H, any other midpipe, well, you'll find out. :)
