I had a similar discussion with the shop pulling the engine on my wife's Fusion Sport. ****er is going on autotrader soon.With almost 13,000 miles on the 2022 F150…. I can confirm that there is ZERO reason anyone should buy an EV truck OR a TT V6 Ecoboost.
Why you ask?
The evidence on the EV is profound and obvious. Anyone buying a truck for truck things, won’t be able to accomplish those goals in any reasonable amount of time. It’s garbage. Save yourself the hassle.
As for the Ecoboost, everyone buying them I would assume is doing it for gas mileage…

I drive 36 miles 1 way back and forth to work. Roughly a 45min to 55min trip depending on traffic. This is a mix of roughly 40/60 city/highway traffic.
Only mods done to the truck are MBRP catback and a PMAS cold air intake. Truck also has factory 3.73 Gears.
Your Ecoboost is trash. It sounds like a weedwhacker.
Do yourself a favor… trade it for a 5.0 tonight.

the Yotes have had their issues over the years too, I'll be interested to see how this new displacement on demand plays out...seems all the other OEs have had issues from it. That and the oil pump BELT
I'm on the fence about the next truck - some of the trim levels the ecoboost is the only option. Long term the 5.0 obviously has less crap to deal with like the turbo cooling lines. I think if I bought a 5.0 next time it would be because I intend to throw a blower on top.

I was sold on the fact that an ecoboost can tow 11k from the factory. But i didnt get the right option on my truck. I got the truck with the heavy duty tow package, however it was the MAX TOW package that could tow 11k pounds. The ecoboost 3.5TT motor does make towing trailers much easier. i think my truck can tow 9k.
Ate an intake valve at 77k miles. $7k to pull the motor and do a valve job on both heads.
