Well ****, I just tested positive for Covid. My timeline looked like this:

23rd: my 5 year old starts coughing at dinner
24th: 5 year old is sick and coughing on everyone but otherwise fine. That night he has a raging fever.
25th: 5 year old is good to go but I'm starting to feel sick.
26th: I'm down for the count. Low grade fever, ache, low energy. That night I pop 103.8 fever. Wake up a few hours later drenched in sweat to the point that it felt like I slept walked into the shower...my temperature read 95.6. At home covid test showed negative in the morning but I did a drive through lab test before bed just to make sure.
27th: mild cough, went to work and felt fine.
28th: I feel fine. Slight stuffy nose and a persistent cough. The lab results just came back positive at 5am.

So far it's been a mild cold and I haven't felt that bad. All of my employees are vaccinated so I'm going to work shortly. I'll stay away from everyone but they're welcome to go home if they want. Unfortunately business is too fragile right now not to be there. I expect my employees to bolt but operations are stopped if I'm not there so might as well go.

I'll tell my employees I've tested positive but that's it. The black mark of death society puts on you over this shit is ridiculous. As the only Republican in my family I hope I'm not the only one that got it and the fact that I even have to think that angers me.

We'll see how I feel in a few days but do far it hasn't been bad at all.
Take care of yourself, for sure!

The CDC has reduced the quarantine period from 10 days to 5 days. That works out to 2 days prior to showing symptoms and 3 days after. For you, according to the CDC, you can come out of quarantine on the 28th, 3 days after you showed symptoms (the 25th).

Of course, the CDC will probably change the quarantine again when it suits "their" interests.

On the home front, my wife and I are feeling fine. So it's back to business as usual for us. We still have 6 days remaining with our vacation. Hopefully we can get out and enjoy some decent weather between now and January 3.

Those are some abnormally large swings. The swing towards hypothermia makes me scratch my head. Is this one of those dermal deals? I’d try a sublingual one.

My fevers were very mild with Rona. Think I barely touched 101 for an hour.

My fevers were very transient. I don’t usually get fevers when I’ve been sick, so I don’t have a lot to gauge it on. I could feel the fever come on and it would last just a few hours and go away. This went on for about three days. Possible the cold meds/fever reducers we’re playing a part.

Neither my wife or I ever had a fever. Our temperatures were 100% normal throughout. Never had the chills or sweats. Just congestion with occasional coughing.

“All of my employees are vaccinated”…

I dont think that means what you think it means… lol

on another note, drink some fluids and drive on!
No, I know what it means...jack shit. Honestly, I said that out of brainwashed habit.

I merely meant that they can assess their own risks and choose to work or not, either way I'm going in to run the machinery and will pay them regardless.

It was a forehead reader. We have an in-ear somewhere.

In a sick twist of fate my ex's entire family got it from my son but she didn't. She's the gut punch that keeps on swinging. My father, despite having symptoms, "I'm a Democrat. Republicans are the only ones getting it." If the Chinese can engineer the next virus to target stupid, evil people and leave the rest of us alone I would greatly appreciate it.

I had the temperature swing yesterday. I was right around 100* most of the day, (99.9, 99.7) then at last night I went from having chills to sweating. My temp was 97.1, 97.7.

I got hit Christmas, chills at noon and it ran all the way up to 103.x by 3p.m.. then went from 103 down to 97.x by around 9p.m. it finally stabilized back to normal for about 14 hours. Sunday around noon it started creeping back up to 100.x for the next 12 hours and gone since then. Really weird temps.

No loss of taste, smell, no cough or congestion. Just fever and a massive headache.

Wife and daughter are doing similar. First day sucks, the other couple of days are just annoying.

I wonder which Variant you got hit with @Socal Mach. The symptoms vary wildly for each it seems.

Wife and I went out shopping today. She still is coughing occasionally. I'm slightly congested still. Tomorrow I'm going to the range for practice and having my new Trijicon night sights installed on my S&W Shield 9mm while I'm practicing with my HK 9mm. Also taking my new S&W .357 Magnum revolver to the range store for consignment. Busy day tomorrow.

My guess would be omicron, I had no respiratory issues. Wife has a small cough and young daughter has a fever that's actually on its way back down to normal.

I wish they would tell you the variant you test positive for. I’m curious which I had. No fever (that I was aware of, I used a forehead reader the first few days) My biggest thing was the headache that no over the counter medicine I had cured, Excedrin, Advil, Tylenol Extra strength. Ibuprofin seemed to help a bit later on, but that was about it. I also had slight chills the first few days, but went away quickly.

It was a very strange sickness. I still have a minor headache here and there, and when I do any kind of moderate exercise, I get winded more quickly than I used to. Part of it could be that I laid around and did nothing for about a week and a half. I also still smell what I consider to be “stinky socks” semi frequently too. I’m not really congested either. Have a random cough here and there.

I read that headaches are sign of the omicron variant. I'm not sure how true that is but I had one as well. I never get headaches which lead me to get tested

I'm not sure they even know. LOL. Seriously. My granddaughter is an RN and she is around Covid patients every day. She told me that the rapid test the doctor used for us in his office will show a Covid "positive" for a common cold or the flu. Why am I not surprised. I'm still a bit congested, but I'm more and more believing my wife and I had bad colds (head colds). Yesterday, CT had a 19% positivity rate with those tested for Covid. What I want to know is how many of those "positive" results were actually for flu or bad colds.

hey, you dumb trucks! There is no test in the hospitals that tells you “variants”.…

LOL… they just take a guess at it, based on what is fed to them….

Glad you are feeling well, Bob…

I’ve had the sniffles too but never bothered paying much attention to it other than D3…

On a very odd side note, although my taste/smell has been diminished due to some congestion, i get random bouts of insane olfactory episodes. During those bouts, i can pick up scents very aggressivel, which is something that i have never had or been able to do, since my whole life my sense of smell has been substandard.

My fever came back yesterday and knocked me on my ass. It's still kicking my ass today, day 4.
