My guess would be that the joint has been flexing for a while and to the point the powder coating cracked at the joints and has held moisture and rusted. I don't think the piece failed due to rust.
They made a pretty good amount of trash a few years ago. IIRC they wouldn’t admit fault initially. Swore I’d never buy anything whiteline, and made sure I told everyone else to stay far away. Redesigned or not, I’d still stay away.
OP, even if they’re willing to replace free of charge, would you still want their stuff on your car?
Would you be able to trust it?
Really? I wonder if something changed. I do not recall them being bad in the late 90's to mid 2000'sThey are the Walmart of suspension products. Long history of inferior parts.
BMR is basically bulletproof for street applications.
It deff didnt fail due to rust. The other guy talking about rust is nuts IMHO. lol.My guess would be that the joint has been flexing for a while and to the point the powder coating cracked at the joints and has held moisture and rusted. I don't think the piece failed due to rust.
I'm not sure either. I've just heard of so many problems previously so just avoided their products and advised others to do the same. Kinda like Bama tunes. Just don't do it & save the headache.Really? I wonder if something changed. I do not recall them being bad in the late 90's to mid 2000's
Maybe they went to cheap chinese stuff like most other places around later 2000's
Funny you mention bama. . . . I will tell you first hand that atleast 2 of Lunds tuners started with Bama and one of the cofounders as I understand of Bama indeed works for Lund as well.I'm not sure either. There are much better options available.

Says the guy with the failed part hahahaha. Just saying.

I believe their issue is more business practices than tuning ability. Since now these tuners are top of the game with the tuning company setting all the records.
Not fully related to topic, but little tidbit that people may find interesting while on the topic of Bama
now that is an interesting comment about BMR Mid grade?Go with steeda or UPR... Whiteline and BMR are mid grade at best.

So the Thot Plickens. . . .
I talked to Whiteline and the guy was a little off. I can't tell if he was being a smart ass or honest. lol
He said Brenspeed put the wrong part on than was paid for. The receipt shows KT141A paid for and installed, but the piece I have is the KT141, which was non gusseted. They have since released the newer version that is the KT204/205 and was redesigned due to easier manufacturing and not issues.
He told me I should just take the warranty piece and sell it on Ebay and buy a BMR. lol.
I am just really thrown by all this.
Dont be. They arent making parts for GT500's. They are making parts for V6's and lightly modded GT's. The parts are made for the owner that wants to spend money, but does not aggressively race their car. To have a "better than stock" suspension but never push the car hard enough that it will see a benefit from the "upgraded" parts.
Also, I was all BMR up until last year. They are a much better quality than Whiteline, but their poly bushings CAN NOT handle drag racing. I was less than impressed with the longevity of the supplie rod ends on their double adjustable arms.
More competitive people run UPR in their Mustangs/GT500s. So, Im removing the grand worth of BMR suspension parts and will replace with UPR in the future.
BMR isnt bad or horrible. Its decent quality, but is it competitive? If you get into their rod end/sphere end arms, they wont fail. But I was a little disappointed in how soon the ends needed to be replaced. Perhaps thats just a thing about rod/sphere ends.
There are a few S197 specific things I bought that didnt fit. Rear tunnel brace with integrated drive shaft loop: ok with stock DS, needed grinding to work with aluminum 1 piece. S197 Trans mounted safety loop. Wouldnt clear aftermarket H/X pipes. No mention of that on their weebsite for either of them. Trans asfety loop was junk after a failed attempt to modify it. Rear tans tunnel brace required a lot of grinding to fit.
Shit like those situations that really turned me off. Not to mention having poly bushings blow out during 1-2, and a 2-3 upshift, and the upper poly bushing blow out in the burnout box...
I absolutely caveat my statements as "my own experience". But a LOT of really fast guys use and recommend UPR.
3 sets of poly bushings blew out, 2 LCA bushings and 1 set of UCA bushings. I then ditched the poly fixed arms and bought fully adjustable UCA/LCA rod arms. Sphere/rod ends wore out after 1 year of driving/mexico but did not have catastrophic failure. So I am confused, you had spherical or poly ones that failed? Looking at UPR, there is a CONSIDERABLE lower price point. Wonder if the non coated parts will show surface rust quicker though

Its entirely possible rod ends are a more consumable item. But i was under the impression that Id get a little more life out of them.
Again, not shitting on BMR, but just trying to share my experience with their product. UPR has come highly recommended to me.
All the suspension parts Ive looked up are advertised as Made in USA and backed by a lifetime warranty.Interesting. See I was always told UPR steals everyone elses designs and then dishes out to China to make the parts.

Ford Mustang Suspension Parts at UPR - Lifetime Warranty!
Its possible they contract out their production. But in today's world and especially the racer community if they advertised made in USA and actually were made in China, they'd not only be roasted online but probably sued. If they are willing to offer a lifetime warranty on their product Id be supremely confident in it.
