I need serious help. How can we explain the rise of flat earthers, when science has progress so rapidly? This guy infuriates me so much. I could barely stand to hear him out. Start listening around 3:05 and look at the other guys face, he's like, " Holy shit, this mutha****a is insane."

If you haven't yet, watch the Netflix documentary on flat earth. It is called "Behind the Curve". (Perfect name for it) It's good for a laugh.

Edit: I wasn't able to watch the video at first but I just did and that is the same guy from the documentary I named. Lmao

Some folks can't handle the universe. Or the planet. They spend the intellect they have that would allow them to see a larger version of God's creation to build up walls and keep it out. One guy I know asked me, "If all these telescopes see all this stuff out there, how come I can't?" I pointed out that yes, the same light falls on your eyes, even in the day, but unless your retinas are 400" in diameter, forget it, you'll never see it. He then looks at me and says, "Aha! I got you now! The stars don't shine during the day!"

I can only blame myself for having wasted the time to try and talk to him.

I can see both sides. There are arguments to be made for both. For the life of me, I have a mountain 63 miles away from that I can see clear as day that I shouldn't be able to see.. It's visible from the other side of my valley, too. I'd say 85+ miles. So I dunno. There are so many experiments that show other info than a curved earth.

But the earth is not perfectly round. If I remember correctly, it actually changes shape. So the curvature is just a measuring stick based on averages.

Social media has allowed the idiots to have a louder voice. I doubt the flat earthers are even anything new, but the idea is so stupid that they get attention on social media to the point that they eventually get a platform to keep talking about it which then attracts all the other like-minded idiots.

Like Snover said, their minds are too small to comprehend the greatness of creation so they create one that fits into that small mind. You can't explain the vastness of the universe to a child... you also can't explain it to many adults, but then you have some adults that are arrogant enough to tell you that you are wrong when they dont understand it.

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but isn't the simplest form of everything a sphere? Down to the very atoms all things are comprised of is a sphere. You could say it is the most natural shape in the universe.

Well... The vast majority of flat earthers do believe in god.

Earth, like every other planet is round due to billions of years of space rock/debris slowly clumping together from gravity during solar orbit, eventually becomes so dense that it forms a molten core from pressure.

I won't get deep in this thread, just because but have you flown in a plane at altitude of 38-40 thousand ft? The horizon left, right, forward & aft are visibly not flat.
And then to add, the pictures from space, pointing back at this planet.

And there are Christians Jesus was black. I understand how the Earth was formed, but Im trying to point out other common examples as visual proof. A water droplet will form into a sphere from the same gravitational forces, correct?

If it wasn't flat every time you swim in the ocean it would feel like you're swimming a little uphill or a little downhill. Pools don't count because they are not shaped like a big disk. So.......

Their educational system failed them. It is absolutely ridiculous to want to believe the Earth is flat especially with so much evidence out there.

No, water droplets dont do that from gravity.
