Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

So you overpaid with a adm and are now bitter that the value of you car doesn't include the adm you overpaid for? That some messed up math.

I'm not sure where you got that from. I did not say I paid ADM nor am I bitter. I didn't pay ADM and I love my car.

I simply pointed out that I am avoiding buying a new car the first year or so that they are out for several reasons. One reason being the fact that "values" of vehicles drop dramatically after a year or so of being on the market. Especially if you are willing to buy a gently used, low miles car.

I didn’t get the feeling he was bitter based on his post

I didn't get that feeling either. I get the feeling as him being cautious about the inherent problems with 1st year vehicles.

Thank you guys. @conceptmachine, that is exactly what I was trying to present.

Ok sorry I misread. I guess I'm flew off the handle since I have seen many people think the adm they paid represents the true value and I don't see it that way. I do think adms are stupid and if you paid that it just shows how much sense you have.

No worries man. I am a flawed man. Not gonna judge. I may tease you a bit though. ;-)

I mostly agree. I have never paid ADM and likely never will.

So by Canadian math is is 10 days or 11?
I’ll probably be in for a base car for street and top speed use. That big R wing will do great on track but hurt drag on top end.

Where were you seeing new HC Challengers in 2016 for $60k? My car's MSRP was $73k+ and they were selling with $25k-$30k ADM for close to a year.

Um...no....sorry....but people were not paying 100K for Hellcats. Maybe a few morons, like the idiots that bought Demons for 120-150k. A new Demon just sold for $105K. Prices are back down to earth. A dealer ADM is not a sign of a car's value. It's just a sign of what they think some idiot will pay.

I generally agree with buying a car 1-2 years old with less than 5k miles. I’ve bought some really nice cars that way at much better prices than new and they’ve held that value well. However, you won’t find a low mile(less than 5k) 1-2 year old GT500 for much less than msrp. An f150, yes. Gt350/500, not so much. If you could find one at msrp, you could drive it for a year, then sell it for close to msrp if history continues to repeat itself.

An item's value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Some people can pay $150k for a Demon like I would pay for a cup of coffee . I don't resent them or feel any need to berate them. Neither do I blame a dealer for trying to get the most for a product he can. He might want a cool car, too.

I think we might be having 2 different convo's.

Value or Market Value, is what I am discussing and using as a marker for why I would wait to buy a first gen, limited production car. Market Value is the price an asset would fetch in the marketplace. Around here, in 2016 and for at least a year, the market value was over $100k. If you wanted one, you paid the ADM. It wasn't just a few morons.

Now... where you're at... the market sounds like it was a bit different. That doesn't mean the market here wasn't what it was.

You're likely right on that. I think on the Shelby, if you get lucky and find someone who couldn't/can't afford it, you may get a good deal. That said, I made a nice profit on my 2011 GT500, 2013 GT500 and my 2016 GT350.

I don't normally shop the used market, so I don't really know how the market flows. I bought a used truck last year for the first time in 25 years. That was only because my son wanted a Chevy square-body pickup and I found a pretty nice military CUCV M1008.
