I know it isn't good enough to play games, I don't, but I can barely watch youtube at 360p with my current setup.
Videos still buffer like a mother on hughes net, was trying to watch a how to when I was fixing a tractor and that shit took forever to load in SD.
We installed Hughes Satellite for a client at a local job site - they were not allowed to run temporary internet service from a cable company. The workers also had cellular hotspots - also slow but not as bad as Hughes. They ended up using those. The Hughes service was too slow and completely useless. It ended up costing them a lot of money and was a complete waste. They also charged an early termination fee of a few hundred dollars but the client was willing to pay that since it would still be cheaper than keeping their useless service for another year. Oh and getting the service cancelled was also a pain in the ass. I still have all the emails.Anyone on here use this? I am so sick of my crappy tower based internet.
My inlaws have hughes net and sucks balls, but being in the middle of BFE Texas they don't have any other options.
I guess the question is: is it better than this?
Had it before they finally brought DSL out out way. Expensive and not very consistent. Now this was many years ago so maybe better now. But was locked in to a 2 year contract. Luckily that was just about the time we got the DSL. Also we bought the system instead of leasing it so when we cancelled we were stuck with the dang thing. Did get rid of most of it on Ebay but still was a pain.

don't wait. find out who is running it and call them to express interest. have your neighbors call as well if you can talk to them. if you do that they may be more likely to run it down your roadWell, they just ran fiber down the state highway 1 mile away. Might have to just wait and see if they T down our county road.
