Would you still buy this car?

I am looking at a 2019 scat pack charger and had a deal pretty close to being done this past weekend except the passenger interior door handle was not working correctly. When the door was opened, the handle wouldn't return to its normal position and the door would not latch properly. The car was taken to service where I was told they needed to replace a pin in the handle. This made me nervous as I don't like interiors coming apart as it opens up opportunities to rattle. Anyway, handle is fixed and they said it was repaired without pulling the door panel. I was going back into look everything over again today and now a door ajar sensor is on the dash as a result of something they did with the repair because it wasn't on the other day when I looked at it. It is getting looked at again...

So now there are two issues on a brand new car that has a total of 6 miles, 3 of which I put on when I drove it. I know these are not necessarily major issues, but I also don't like the prospect of shelling out big money on a new car that has any issues before I even get it..

What would you do?

Maybe look for another one with the same options?
But it seems like 1 issue that spawned another issue probably due to them trying to rush the fix.

It wouldn't deter me from buying the car as long as they fixed the issue. However, I would think twice about buying Mopar. I have owned 5 Hondas over the past 20 years; sometimes I owned more than one at a time, and the total number of years I owned the brand is 30+. Their quality control is great. In 2014 I decided to buy the wife a Mopar...for the love of God, lights come on, stuff rattles, things don't work quite right, etc. The quality control has to be as bad a Fords! LOL Her car now has 64k miles on it, and while nothing is technically "wrong" with it, there are quirks and quality issues that drive me nuts that I never had with Hondas. This isn't a promotion for Honda, its just a knock on Mopar's quality...unless Mopar has improved greatly in the past four years?

I wouldn’t condemn it but I would also have a back up vehicle in mind.

Have it looked over for body repairs to that side of the vehicle. With such low miles it is unlikely but the dealership could have had an accident and had a shop fix it only for them to not have reassembled it correctly which is why you are seeing those issues. We fixed plenty of brand new vehicles for dealerships for accidents that occurred on the lots or on test drives that I am confident they weren't disclosing. Some were taken care of through the manufacturer's insurance but most were handled by the dealerships.

I mean, thats literally what the warranty is for. Its made by FCA, so youre just going to have to accept that it may require some warrantable repairs for things like that. That specific unit could have had lot damage as @svtfocus2cobra mentioned.

Specifically the car you test drove? Unless they take another couple thousand off for the incovenience id work a deal on another unit.

I wouldn't, it's bad luck imo. But I'm mental.

Its under warranty right? Who cares. Have them fix it.

Its a car, and that's what warranty is for. Just explain that the issues make you a bit nervous and see what the dealer says. Women do some DUMB shit with cars. Never know how the latch may have gotten damaged....

I'd snag it up. And not give the door issues a second thought.

And for all the guys hammering on Dodge, 2015+ Dodge vehicles are leaps and bounds better in terms of quality / fit & finish compared to their broker days.

Wanna bet it’s the swagger wagon/pacifica/caravan..

Nope cause you'd probably win, which is why i think he went out of his way to not mention the model lol.

This, however, my 2006 SRT Charger has held up well. I'd love to compare it to a simlar year/mileage car from Ford/GM. These seats are still comfy af with no rips or anything, hell, I don't even treat them and they're still in good shape. Now my New edge GT......what a POS lol.
