No idea what msrp might be but that thing is gonna be a nightmare for a lot of cars costing way more
Can’t say that just yet, that’s is GM’s first time making a mid engine car. Also they will dial this thing back for the z06 which will come out maybe 1-2 years after release of the c8.

I will wait before saying crazy shit like “this thing will make euro cars looks weak”. Ya sure bud, the ZR1 is the latest creation from GM and it’s already slower than the 720s and gt2rs both of which were released last year. You also get what you pay for so the other brands will always cost more. Hopefully GM puts a front end lift kit because all the supercars in Europe have it as an option.

Where is the motor relative to front axle on C7? Isn't it functionally a mid engined car already?

Holy shit, tough crowd. So, 98% as fast on paper and essentially a drivers race depending on the driver for 40% of the price just doesn't cut it.

This is not GM's first mid engine car.

LOL, you need to wake up if you think the ZR1 is 98% as fast as the other two. There is no performance metric the ZR1 will win against those two cars. The only excuse left is price. I love that the ZR1 will be affordable, i will consider selling my car for one.

According to fastest lap times a Z06 is neck a d neck with a 720s.

There are unofficial reports that zr1 is right at 7.14 as well.

What was that you were saying about "waking up?" LOL

This was given to Jim Mero as a retirement gift. Take it with a grain of salt!

Lol, if you think the z06 is neck to neck with a 720s. You are crazy man.

This conversation is over if you are going to put up mfc backed ring times. Especially if Mclaren hasnt done a run at the ring with the 720s.
Check out their time at willow springs, ZR1 almost 2 seconds slower. 2 seconds is an eternity. Also, watch dragtimes video of the 720s vs zr1. its not close.

In all fairness tho, the damn 720s is a freak of nature over achiever.

NOTHING compares.

The ZR1 will hang with damn near anything else the world can offer.

LOL forgot about the fiero. I remember the f40 kit for that car.

Agreed, i'm not disappointed with the American cars, its just the euro cars have improve maybe two levels. When the c6 ZR1 and gen IV ACR were out they were the kings of performance. Nothing touched them at the track or at the ring. Now there is no answer from the American brands for what Porsche and Mclaren have to offer. I guess the future does look bright since GM is now in the mid engine game and probably producing a twin turbo v8 (c8z).
