I was just wondering if you guys are seeing a lot of price stratification based on color? It seems that Competition Orange tends to bring the most money, and Mineral Grey the least. Have you noticed any other trends?

Agree on the Comp O.

From what I recall, I've only ever seen very low mile MG cars for sale on here and they were priced pretty high. Might not be a good sample for pricing.

Watch your mouth about mineral grey... lol! In all seriousness though when I bought my car the c.o. market hadn't really gone stupid yet. It was between c.o., m.g., and s.b. It came down to at the end three cars, mileage condition and mods determined which to buy. At the time I was willing to spend 25000 for a nice one that I wouldn't be afraid to drive because of low miles.
I ended up finding my car 4.5 hours away in w.v. and couldn't be happier, well except resale now with what the comp. o's have done. I just gave up on the orange because I didn't want another flashy color car after selling my yellow 280z a while back. It's a shame really, because mineral grey gets no love and it really is a nice color on this body style.

I'm a black on black mustang fan till I die, unfortunately. My ceramic coating has made the paint maintenance a breeze now though. I was looking at an SB with like 80K and he wanted 21K for it. Wasn't going to spend that much for that many miles. Ended up finding a black one with 10,500 miles in the state over for 24.5K. I think the low mileage SB, CO, DSG, MC ones can get these prices but a lot of the abused ones think they can get a premium also. I don't agree.

I have purchased 2 Mystichrome verts and sold 1. I watch Mystichrome prices and have seen them steadily marching upwards since I bought my first in 2013. I’d put MC near the top of the prices as well. Of course mileage and condition play a big part.

Maybe I should have said Zinc Yellow?

Usually lower the production number color the more popular but in reality they do that because most people don't want those colors. They normally want black, red, or white which is why they make more of them. Nothing like a clean black car.

I think color DOES play a factor. Would you buy a basically brand new pink Cobra (i.e. 2K miles) or a CO or SB in good condition with 35K miles on it (assuming you could afford anyone of them)?

I own 2 silver Cobra's. One is Satin Silver and I think only 242 coupes were produced in that color and only 81 Verts (damn near CO production numbers). However, in the Cobra world Silver is considered boring or an old man's car. No one talks about paying a premium for silver. So, I do think color plays a factor in someone's perception of the price/value and how much they are willing to pay.

No question color plays a major role which I’ve never understood. The rare MC/sonic and comp seem to be the the color everyone wants which drives those prices up. I’ve always thought the Redfire was the best color especially when clean and in the sun but it’s not that popular.

Coming from another lowly MG owner, yes. Lol
I love that color. I've never seen one in person, but I saw a C7 'vette in a similar color and thought it looked great, too. I like the understated, classy look of it. I bought a new Cadillac DTS in a similar color 10 years ago (and sold it).

The bright colors (besides Torch "arrest me" Red) remind me of hot wheels that I grew up with and I just don't want those on my hot rods, but that's just me.

A certified old fart.

Which is why I have a silver one.

Clean, low mileage, reasonably priced OW coupes seem hard to find. I looked for a long time, finally gave up and bought a different color and bodystyle.

MC, SB and CO bring thousands more. I sold my 9500 Mile SB in October for $32k in a matter of hours. If it were a different color, it would be worth $28k

If you look at what has sold here lately, those 3 colors consistently sell for more money. CO probably carrying the highest premium

CO, MC, & SB bring the most money. I’d say ZY brings the least.

I keep a California duster with me in the trunk. If only i knew beforehand what having a black cobra was going to do to my OCD...

I understand comp orange is a rare color on Terminators, but I see a lot of comp orange out driving around and they all seem to be V6s. I’d get more fired-up about the color if it was only on the Terminators. I personally wouldn’t pay a premium for it, but that’s what makes this hobby so fun and interesting. We all have different tastes and can get whatever tickles our fancy. ANY Terminator is awesome, no matter what the color. Some colors just have a larger fan base than others.
