I'm having a hard time calling the Demon with the PCM, Race gas and all the crate items installed stock. Why do you think they sent it to you in a crate and say it's for off road use only. To me this screams modified car. I'm impressed at the 9 second pass and actually didn't think it wouldn't be this soon.

The crate pcm isn’t for off road use only. The car is 50-state legal!!! BTW, Dodge got the car to run 9.90s without any of the crate items.

It's not for off road use. It is 100% legal, in all 50 states, with the PCM and 100 octane. Tim K. addressed this during the reveal. The only reason it was shipped in a crate, was because the attorneys requested it.

I’m still floored by the number of “car enthusiasts” blinded by brand loyalty. The Demon is a car that should stir your soul (pun intended) and put a smile on your face because of what it can do.

Props to Dodge for having the balls to develop a car like this. It’s going to be something collectors go crazy over in 10-20 years.

I agree! I have been frequenting the forum again recently and like to see how most are speaking highly of many different vehicles coming out, rather than the normal bias to Mustangs only, like years ago.

To each their own but for the most part, this is a great time to be a car enthusiast because all the different great types of branded vehicles that are hitting the market. It only helps drive the market forward with technological advancement and pushes the new vehicles to be faster, better handling and have all the bells and whistles too.

Not taking anything away from the Terminator because that is where most of what is occurring today happened when it debut back in 2002 but... who would have thought 15 years ago you would be able to pick up a GT500 with 700 to 800 to the wheels in the high $20K low $30K with low miles?!

IMO... the flares aren't terrible, and they are necessary to fit those 315's. I'll gladly take one and drive the living crap out of it :)

I could talk crap all day about the Demon, BUT if someone handed me the keys and was like “it’s your’s” I most certainly would not say “no thank you”

Ok I stand corrected. The car is impressive. It it bad that I want more then just a drag car? Has nothing to do with brand loyalty. The market has moved on and people expect more in a car.

On the other hand, there are many others looking for “just a drag car” and thats why they are all sold out. I don’t see why a Demon with Z rated tires all around won’t handle. Just because it’s a great drag car doesn’t mean that’s all it can do. It has the same adjustable suspension as the other SRTs. Same Brembo brakes, albeit a little smaller up front to clear the 18” wheels. Plus it has more power and is lighter. There are many people out there road racing Hellcats.

FWIW, the same can be said about the GT350. Most people paid MSRP + ADM. Sure, it can handle, but will run low 12s. Meh, so does my 4400lb. sedan. The new ZL1 will crush it in every category. “One trick pony” if you will, pun intended.

Some people don’t give a rats behind about handling. We want power! :D

I'm more impressed with the Demon now. I didn't doubt that it was going to run 9s. I was skeptical of the claimed 140+ mph.

I'm still disappointed some. 136 mph vs the claimed 140+mph traps is a big difference IMO. Maybe we will see 140s in negative DA. Then the 9.7s and 6s will happen. I think the car would be a better buy if it could hit mid 9s @ 140+ in a normal 1,000-2,000' DA like most of us live in. It's a fast car for sure. Personally I'd rather have a modded HC.

Either way, very slim market for the Demon and it targeting a drag only environment.

By the way, you ran your GTR at the strip? Have any times with it?

WARRANTY!

I factored that into my personal assessment. $90k for high 9s @ 137mph & the car is a one trick pony. Still pass. I'll buy me a bolt on HC and still have some warranty. Mods might void the powertrain warranty and then again, might not. Even with a void powetrain warranty I'd still have the rest of the car under warranty.

I agree with your target market comment. The diehard Mopar fans will buy it.

When’s the last time you saw a Dodge on the road course, save viper?

Dodge has always been heavy, high horsepower. They’re not nimble track rats, and never will be. Geez you guys.

I feel like a manufacturer could give us 2000whp, and y’all would still find something to bitch about. Lololol

‘Eh but it’s not FORD....’

I’d rather have a Hellcat / Demon than a GT350, hands down.

Defensive much?!?!

I take it you haven't ever driven a 350.
